If the US House of Representatives and Senate fail to agree on a government funding bill by September 30, the federal government will shut down. Right now, the House and Senate can't agree on a bill as they wrangle over Obamacare. A possible shutdown is getting closer, with the House offering a plan to provide stoppage funding but defund Obamacare - a plan the White House is certain to oppose - the prospects for compromise are dimming. What do you think about the looming government shutdown? Will there be a shutdown or do you expect a compromise? Is it acceptable for either a president or members of Congress to threaten a government shutdown in order to achieve their political goals? |

They are fighting for the people and what the people want and believe in. (mostly) The POTUS is being stubborn and is being the equivalent of a child throwing a tantrum. Congress has offered solutions to rework ACA - which included a cheaper, more reliable rework of the medicaid system. POTUS rejected it and threw it as an all or nothing proposal.
