If Stonewall Jackson was alive at Gettysburg, Lee would have won. As it was, Lee didn't listen to his subordinates who wanted to swing between Washington and the Yankee army, which would have forced the Federals to attack Lee on defensive ground of his choice. If Lee would have won, the North probably would have considered at least a ceasefire. Picketts charge was insane and suicidal.
