Sorry a little late posting this, just got home!

Apparently there were military helicopters and swat every where because they "thought" there was a second shooter. The kids didn't get out of school until after 6pm. Just started looking for more details, will post when I find them!

On Facebook they are saying his name was Kenneth Lees Sr. but I cant find any court records for that name, so dont know what the warrant was for yet!

I also believe he is still barricaded in the home.

Doesn't anyone think it is odd I can't find any court records for this guy???!!!!

If there was a warrant for his arrest, there should be something in the system... I am in Pennsylvania, EVERYTHING is always on the PA court site, I have never not found something or someone!

Brockway is a borough in Jefferson County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 2,182 at the 2000 census.

On Thursday, September 26, 2013, two Pennsylvania State Police Troopers were serving a warrant to a resident just outside of Brockway around 2:30 PM on Cemetery Road. When the troopers knocked on the door, they were answered with gun shots. One trooper was hit in the neck and chest but pulled to safety by the other trooper. The injured trooper was life flighted to UPMC Altoona, listed in critical condition. [2]

The suspect retreated to his home while multiple police agencies from the surrounding area responded to the scene. He barricaded himself inside and kept police forces on scene overnight. The CERT team was on scene to provide assistance, as well as multiple Pennsylvania State Police helicopters which circled the area incase the suspect tried to flee his house. It is believed that officers can't storm the house because the suspect has been threatening to blow up a meth lab inside his residence, this is still unconfirmed.

Both the schools in the Brockway Area School District were locked down and no students were permitted to leave the buildings. The lockdown began shortly after the shooting and lasted until 6:00 PM that evening. The school is located roughly two miles away from the scene. The police also asked that all residents stay inside, as this situation is still labeled as an active shooter.[3] The wounded officer was eventually life flighted a second time to University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

There have also been unconfirmed reports of a high speed chase that also took place after the shooting. The car was driven by the shooter's son and ended in a crash in Brockway.

Yes, I am resurrecting this post!! I have spent the last few days going through everything I possibly could and now have reason to believe this was some type of Martial Law drill...

Northwestern Pennsylvania Martial Law Test

ALLEGED TRASH PULLS

On September 11, 2013, around midnight, the Jefferson County (Pennsylvania) Drug Task Force supposedly took two bags of garbage from the curb outside of the home of Kenneth Lees Sr., age 60, at 1881 Cemetery Hill Road in Snyder Township on the outskirts of Brockway, Pennsylvania.

It has been reported that contained in these garbage bags is as follows: about 50 pairs of green and white rubber gloves with burnt fingertips, pieces of aluminum foil with burn marks on them, three empty bottles of p-benzoquinone, one boot that appeared to be partially melted, 1”x3” white cards that had the markings that included PURE and MIX on them, one top of a gallon milk jug that was made into a funnel, and a kitty litter container that contained burnt rubber gloves.

On September 26, 2013 at 12:01 a.m., Drug Task Force conducted another “trash pull”. When a garbage can was opened officers said, “a strong odor of marijuana was present”. This time they supposedly took eight bags of garbage and found: Marijuana leaves and stems, white powder, cut-apart lithium batteries, burnt rubber gloves within the white powder, and of course now there was several items of indicia that included letters from the mail with the address of Ken or Kenneth Lees, 1881 Cemetery Hill.

Since when did the Drug Task force drive around stealing people's garbage... Yes I know once it hits the curb it becomes public property... but still smells dirty to me!!

SEARCH WARRANT

Based on what was found in the garbage and combined with their training in drug investigation, the officers believed probable cause existed to suspect that the Lees residence was being used to manufacture or distribute illegal controlled substances.

A search warrant was issued by Jefferson County District Judge Greg Bazylak in Brookville, PA on September 26, 2013 at 1:12 p.m., only about 13 hours after the last trash pull.

The one-story ranch style home, all outbuildings on the property – specifically a small shed on the corner of the property, as well as any and all persons and vehicles present were to be searched.

The items to be searched for and seized:

Methamphetamine, marijuana, and any other illegal controlled substances as defined by the Controlled Substance Drug Device and Cosmetic Act and any drug paraphernalia including but not limited to scales, baggies, and or paper packaging, pipes/bongs or tubes for smoking or snorting, items used to make methamphetamine and any other devices that may be used to store, ingest marijuana, methamphetamine, or other controlled substances.

The items to be searched for and seized continued:


Books, records, receipts, notes, ledges, and other papers relating to the transportation, ordering, purchasing, and distribution of controlled substances, in particular, methamphetamine and/or marijuana.

Books, records, receipts, bank statements and records, money drafts, letters of credit, money order and cashier's check receipts, passbooks, bank checks, U.S. mailing slips, and other items related to the obtaining and concealment of financial holdings.


Financial proceeds of dealing in marijuana, methamphetamine, or any other illegal controlled substance, e.g. United States currency.


Indicia of occupancy, residency, and/or ownership of the premises described on the search warrant, including but not limited to utility and telephone bills, cancelled envelopes, safe deposit box key(s), and keys to the residence.


Any and all firearms to include but not limited to handguns, revolvers, pistols, shotguns, rifles, and any other items listed under the Uniform Firearms Act.


Any and all electronic communication devices, e.g., cellular telephones, computers, electronic note pads, ect.


Any and all electronic surveillance systems and monitoring equipment.



DETAILS OF THE INCIDENT

Disclaimer: There are several discrepancies within the story. Please be advised!

TROOPER SHOT

Shortly after receiving the search warrant on September 26, 2013, between 2:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., Troopers and Officers from the State Police, and/or Jefferson County Drug Task Force, and/or Troop C Vice Unit supposedly tried to serve the search warrant at the home of

Kenneth Lees Sr. After announcing themselves it is reported that they were met with gunfire from the door or maybe the window.

One Trooper immediately was hit – Trooper First Class Bradley Wilson, who was scheduled to retire before years end.

Initial reports stated that BOTH officers were shot. There was no reports of how many were on the scene to serve the warrant and conflicting reports on exactly who was there. Actually they refused to answer how many people were there, just stating that it was a significant amount. No further information or confirmation that a second officer was actually hit, so this should be disregarded.

While the other troopers completely shot up the house that was alleged to contain a methamphetamine lab, Trooper Wilson was pulled to safety amongst the gunfire. Please note that lack of explosion that followed, that would have been guaranteed if the residence did contain said meth lab.

A Life Flight helicopter landed in the nearby football field, this is confirmed from pictures. The intended passenger was Trooper Wilson and all reporting news agencies stated he was life flighted from the scene. However, the official report states that he was transported by ambulance to DuBois Regional Medical Center, in DuBois, PA, which is approximately 10 miles away. Once he was stabilized he then was life flighted to Altoona Regional Medical Center in Altoona, PA for emergency surgery. Then he was transported to UPMC in Pittsburgh, PA for further treatment.

He was listed as stable but critical condition from two gunshot wounds – one in the neck and one in the upper torso. The severity is unknown as it was reported the neck was only grazed and there is no exact location of the upper torso shot, as you would believe a bullet-proof vest may have prevented this shot. It also was reported that he was conscious.


THE STANDOFF

As soon as this happened law enforcement established a perimeter around the Lees residence.

The official reports states that The Pennsylvania State Police were assisted in this incident by the Jefferson County Emergency Management Association, the Jefferson County District Attorney's Office, the Pennsylvania Game Commission, the Brockway Borough Police Department, the Brookville Borough Police Department, the Sykesville Borough Police Department, the Reynoldsville Borough Police Department, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department, the Brockway Volunteer Fire Department, the DuBois City Volunteer Fire Department, and the Brockway Volunteer Ambulance Service.

Not listed but reported in the news there was also military type helicopters, a SWAT team which included an armored Bearcat assault and siege vehicle that came from Pittsburgh, PA. I must also ask for my own personal curiosity, why the Dubois City Police Department did not respond. DuBois, PA would have been the closest and largest police force. In fact, the police departments that were on the scene normally only have 1-2 officers on duty, whereas DuBois City PD could have at least 6-8 officers on duty!

All attempts to make contact and communicate with the occupants of the home to negotiate their surrender were unsuccessful.

After 11+ hours of brilliant photo-ops, at approximately 1:00 a.m. Friday, the state police Special Emergency Response Team entered the home and found Kenneth Lees Sr. dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. One must ask if this is indeed fact. Was he immediately killed and perhaps that is why all attempts of communication failed. If he shot himself at anytime after the initial gunfire, wouldn't it have been heard and reacted upon?


MARTIAL LAW

Immediately after this occurred, the town of Brockway and the schools in the district were put on lockdown. The schools remained on lockdown until after 6:00 p.m. that evening. The road was blocked to Cemetery Hill and the residents in the direct area were completely removed from their homes and were not allowed to return until Friday. The town of Brockway was asked to stay inside their homes well into the wee hours of the morning.


THE SON

A person of interest/ be on the lookout for alert was issued for Lees' son, Kenneth Jr on the same day, September 26, 2013. His car was spotted around 9:30 p.m. and officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop for traffic violations. The officers were lead on a 20- to 25- minute chase that ended when the vehicle was disabled by car strips placed across the road in his path. Kenneth Jr. then fled on foot but was apprehended and taken into custody, supposedly assaulting a trooper. The trooper suffered minor injuries. Kenneth Lees Jr. is charged with various traffic violations and felony charges of fleeing and eluding and aggravated assault. He is currently being housed in the Jefferson County Jail but cannot be found on the PA inmate locator. It appears he did not post bail and refused a public defender. His preliminary hearing was scheduled for
October 7, 2013, it now has been continued until November 20, 2013.

The father, Kenneth Sr. has no criminal record in the state of Pennsylvania. The guy hasn't even had a speeding ticket!

The son does have a previous record but nothing too major. There was a civil complaint against the father, mother, and son.. but I would guess it had something to do with the son. Only because it was an insurance company suing for reimbursement and one of Kenneth Jrs. charges was propelling a object towards a vehicle, when he would have been like 16. He is now 23.

I STILL cannot find Kenneth Jr. on the PA inmate locator and there is STILL NO obituary for Kenneth Sr.

There are NO WITNESSES to confirm or deny this story... Everyone was removed from the area and not allowed to return for almost 24 hours later. The road was blocked off. Even the news crews couldn't get close until near morning!!

Most everyone complied and was good little boys and girls and stayed in their homes!

The only talk of the story now is how everyone was heroes!!

AND it really bothers me the first trash pull was done on September 11th!!

My Brother Kenneth, as I was told killed himself. I want you all to know that Kenneth had alzhimers and probably did shoot the officer. His son is evil. Kenneth,Sr, has never been in any legal trouble. His son is another matter. My heart is breakon for my brother. His son in my opinion is a murderer. He lead my brother down this path. Ken, Sr. always had learning problems, never the brightest candle on the birthday cake and there is no way in my and his 4 surviving brothers minds that Kenny Sr. could have even been a "laborer" as Ken Jr. says. He would have blown up the whole house. Now Jr is making my brother out to be the evil one. So unfair. Hope this kid rots in HELL. The back shed was Ken Jr. territory. His parents weren't allowed in there since he was nine Bone of contention between his parents and his behavior was the reason my broher's wife left him. Such a sad sad story. Ken Sr was growing pot, but nothing will ever convince me he was into the meth or other stuff.

N. Nothing u have claimed is true. Ken did not have alzheimers. He had an exceptional memory and a quick mind. He had anger management issues big time. He had a HUGE problem with police and authority figures. He refused to work after he lost his job but found that welfare didn't pay enough so he decided to supplement rather than get a job. Kenny is not evil Kenny made many bad choices because his father chose to be his friend rather than a teacher and role model in a positive way. Kenny was never violent but Ken was. he did a good job of keeping his issues under control. I spent 21+ years with him. His anger issues were getting worse. The day after he threatened to kill me, I filed for divorce the following day. He humiliated me on numerous occasions when getting into altercations with police (in particular), lawyers (check w/ his divorce atty), school officials etc.... Ken had mental problems. It would not have surprised me that he would have hit a cop but I never dreamed that he would shoot one. Remember... the house and shed were Ken's property. What parent would allow a child to build a meth lab or grow pot on his property??? He was the adult. He was proud that he was using the system but it wasn't paying him enough. And as for your claim of him being learning disabled... you are far off on that one. Ken had a BS in Business administration, he operated a martial arts academy, he not only excelled at Triangle tech in the carpentry program, he helped teach the others that were weak in math. Ken was very good with computers (I have never found anyone who does a better job and I work in the tech field), He had a brilliant mind and could have done anything if he had chosen it. But he liked to fool people. He thought the rest of us are stupid for working for a living. N. the truth is, Ken was your brother and I am sorry you and your family lost him the way that you did. But you don't help anything by spreading untruths about Ken, Kenny or the whole situation. Yes.... Kenny screwed up. And he is paying for his choices. Ken sealed his own fate when he shot the officer. We all know it's a death sentence to do that. He realized as soon as he did it, that he was going to die. That was all on Ken. Kenny was in class down at Penn State when all this took place. After shooting the officer, Ken called Kenny in a panic saying that he wanted to surrender. Truth is, he died soon after from a round shot by police. That is why he didn't respond when they tried to communicate. Those are the facts. U hadn't seen Ken in what 12 or more years. My heart goes out to the officer who was shot. My family wishes him well.

Your investigative skills are lacking. This was no test, there's a human being paralyzed for doing his job...trying to keep drugs off of the street and out of the community. I'm a USMC veteran and a friend of a fellow trooper of his. What I've read on this thread disgusts me and this is my country too just like yours.
