HEY OP. you are looking at this all the wrong way. women can suck. No doubt. My wife has her moments when as I said, SHE DRIVES ME NUTS.
But it isn't a prison. Remind yourself, TO ENJOY YOUR WIFE. Time with her, sexually, what she brings to your life. Enjoy your wife. you can have fun, WITH HER. It isn't that you are STUCK. It is that now there is TWO of you. If you aren't taking the time to enjoy your wife. That is probably a lot of your problem. You see the negative. But you aren't getting the enjoyment. And most women, are pretty much followers of their husbands. So if you want to lead the relationship a different way. A HAPPIER WAY for you. Just do it. Give her a little attention, and she will follow right along to wherever you want the marriage to go. That is how it works. Well unless you want to bring her skydiving, she may hesitate on that. But you aren't trapped. Most women, will follow along right behind you if you are nice about it. They thrive for attention from their husbands.

No, I don't regret getting married. What I regret is staying married too long when I should have gotten a divorce. No one deserves to be abused.

I've been divorced 4 years and I still regret getting married. I regretted getting married about 7 months after I did it. Wish I had just swallowed my pride, divorced then, and not dealt with so many years of unhappiness.

Re: Do you regret getting married?
No, I regret that feminazi women and faggot pantywaist men made divorce so expensive. The feminazi women part is easily understood, so I'll explain why I blame men.

During the '80s and '90s, it was stylish for men to be "feminists", defined as they gave up their manhood and their rights for a sniff at the pussy. They adopted preposterously feminine styles demanded by women, stopped opening doors and paying on dates, and deferred to women's "empowerment" which was nothing more than a transferring of their rights and power to women.

Now, women are in the driver's seat. The police, the courts and every government agency bows before them.

While I was married, I fought the good fight. I was good and kind to my girl and gave her a good life. But, I stood up for my right to have her treat me with respect in my home. I wasn't abusive nor was I demanding or overbearing, but I did NOT permit myself to be arm-twisted into second fiddle.

But eventually, the feminazi women and faggot pantywaist men got the better of me. They turned everything I earned and saved my whole life into a Christmas goose for my wife to slaugher and gorge on at her pleasure. She waited until my earning power was at its peak (or so she thought), then she used the feminist/legal complex, that anti-male juggernaut of government power, created by feminazi women and faggot pantywaist men, to strip me of my life's work.

So no, I don't regret getting married. I got many years of love, support, and happiness from it. I got great kids from it. I got a lifetime of great memories from it. And, I got 20 years of unbeatable sex from it.

What I regret is the feminazi women and faggot pantywaist men who made marriage a fool's errand for men. Because, back when it was good, back before the feminazi women and faggot pantywaist men fucked it up for the rest of us, there was nothing like it.

Re: Do you regret getting married?
I do. Mainly because I miss when I was single and free fun life that I had. I think the biggest mistake a man can commit is to get married. Marriage is really a boring thing.
Now I just can't divorce my wife because of many circumstances.

Marriage is worse than going to jail. At least when you go to jail you have hope to get out someday.

Who else regrets getting married for these or other reasons?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 47569430

I read something once that said that something like 60 or 70% of people who were dying to get divorced, and who did, later regretted it and realized what they had lost. Many of them married and then divorced again and again, or just stayed lonely and unmarried and wished they had never left / lost #1. If you think it's bad now, try being single again and see what kind of goodies are out there waiting for you. I'm sure it will all be good times with some very special girls who have no issues.

You're going to attract the same thing and likely even worse until you realize it's partially you that's the problem, not your *$%# wife.

I just have to ground her from the bank accounts and credit cards for a while so can play make money and catch up. But damn, she does buy some nice clothes and looks really good in them...

Re: Do you regret getting married?
some days. I cant stand my wife. The way she rolls her eyes at me. Running up debt, bouncing checks. Making me broke. And I make more money than most people I know. And IM ALWAYS FREAKN BROKE. Her wise azz comments. The fact she don't work. HER family drives me nuts. The way she is always in a good mood like life is just grand. Her always socializing and on the phone. The way whatever goes wrong she says "well you are the man you are responsible for it" or she does something wrong and she says "well you are the man, you are responsible for me" SHE JUST DRIVES ME FREAKN NUTS. So on some days. yes.
But then again.. she is a great cook. I do almost no housework. She runs my errands. She kisses me soon as I walk in the house every day. She snuggles with me if I sit down. She calls me if im gone just to say hi. I always get laid, whenever I want it. She is a great decorator, far as the house. She is crafty, makes crafts, I think is kind of neat. Not my thing but interesting. She plays a great piano. She makes great impressions on others and makes me look good. She is very pretty. If I say "sweetie come here" she jumps right up and comes over. I never have to worry about dating again, or wondering if I am going to get laid. I almost never have to wonder where she is, she calls and tells me or is following me around somewhere. DATING, you always wondered where they were. it is much better being introduced as "mr. and mrs. xxxx" I think you gain some respect in general from people when you get married. If I don't want to do something, I can often sucker her into doing it. Don't have to worry about having kids, she gave me some and watches them for me. She will usually ask me before doing something. NO worries there. She makes me a birthday cake every birthday. If I tell her not to do something. She wont do it. She lOVES being married. Which sure helps as she is always happy about it and giving. If I say "hey sweetie can you make xxxxx for dinner tonight" she will make it. She does a lot of volunteer work, which doesn't directly pertain to me but it makes me look good. LOL. if I want to lay on the couch with someone and watch a movie, I know I can. It is one less thing in life to concern myself with, as I don't need to find a wife I have one. In a lot of ways it makes it easier. My purpose is to just go make money and pay bills. Near everything else, she worries about. So if Im home, and don't feel like doing much. I don't have too. I get time with my kids, because I don't have a lot else to do because she does most errands and home things.. The years go by, and it seems we have a lot of memories together. irreplaceable. I met her when I was in my early twenties and she just graduate highschool.

And the biggest thing, is when she dresses up. WE go out somewhere. And she looks AMAZING. I just cant help but look at her and stare. Even fifteen years together. Even though, many a day. SHE DRIVES ME TOTALLY NUTS. Because I cant believe. when the nights over, I get to bring her home. ANd she will notice me staring at her. and she will GLOW. And just nudge a little closer to me and give me a kiss.
so over all....... I hate her many a day. But no, I don't regret getting married AT ALL. I wouldn't dream of having it any other way.

Lots of times. They are just not having anything to look forward too. So they get kind of depressed. Depressed people , don't have ambition. Been through this everyone has ups and downs. First thing you could do is just TELL HER to get up and clean it up. ive done that. But that doesn't really fix the problem. The problem is she doesn't have the ambition to get up and do it herself. Probably because she is kind of depressed.
Faced with this, I would suggest you put it to her like this. "hey dear, I think you need to get out of the house. How about I take you out to dinner tonight and we can go for a walk after". so you do that. give her something like that once every so often. so she has something to look forward too. And then ask her to pick up the kitchen. And she will probably do it, and start doing it volunteerily. she just doesn't have much to look forward to, I think is your problem. So entice her off of facebook, and to being with you. And you will be much further ahead. And she will be much happier.

Re: Do you regret getting married?
Married 3 years, with 2 kids. Marriage was good until we had our first kid, cause immediately I got kicked out of the bed because wife wanted to do this "co-sleeping" thing with the baby. Cause that's the new trendy thing for mothers to do now, for the kid to sleep with the mother until they are 5 years old, allowing them to breastfeed whenever they want all night.

Then we had baby #2 and pretty much all alone time with my wife was gone. I'd basically just work my job and come home and dinner was never made for me because my wife would spend all her time supporting the two children, feeding them, playing with them, cleaning them, etc. The husband became far last on the list.

I'm sorry op, but maybe you just got married to the wrong person.

I am the happiest man on earth to have my wife. She is the most beautiful human being, inside and out. I don't say this because she is mine, but because she really is and everyone says it. The first time I saw her I knew i'd love her forever.

Her face, her smile, her beautiful bright eyes... She is perfect.
She is so sweet and charming. She is always concerned about me and do everything she can do to please me.

You have to find a woman that is really worth. I wouldn't leave my wife for anything in the world. I would go hungry, I would go to mars... I'd do everything because of this woman. She is the meaning of my life. She is more than I could ever dream or expect for in a woman. She fills my life with joy, she is my everything.

Yes. I waited 45 years to get married as I was career focused. I own and run a multi state corporation that feeds many people.

The regret is mine because of me. I am not marriage material.

I cannot be what my husband needs. He needs someone who worships him. I do not. I love him, but am not the person who brings out his best self.

Re: Do you regret getting married?
I regret getting married (Ten years ago). It lasted 3 years from a total of a 5 year relationship. I was with the wrong person. She sucked the life right out of me. Since our divorce in 2010, I've diarrhead at the thought of getting married again. I've lived the life of bachelorhood to it's fullest and regret none of it.

Last year (Almost a year to date) I started dating this woman who I couldn't imagine living without. I was highly skeptical at first but a few months after we started dating, she moved in with me, a few months later, I started realizing that this was actually working out really good.

The two of us are like two peas to the pod. She isn't draining my bank account, she doesn't put any demands on me, we like the same things, do the same things..it's working out pretty well.

We pretty much have acknowledged that we're going to end up getting married to each other one day but there is no rush. We know it'll happen but it'll happen when it does. No timelines, no deadlines..

I think I just found the right person.

My first marriage was a disaster. She hated my family, she hated me succeeding in anything, I went bankrupt, she sabotaged my career. It was a complete and total nightmare.

When I became single again, I literally only had the clothes on my back. I re-established myself from the ground up. I stayed single for a few years before I even thought about dating. I got my own place, called my own shots, did what I had to do.

When I started dating again, because of my past, I was able to make wiser choices. When the red flags would go up, I would stop dating the person I was with. Immediately.

Now with this girl I'm with now. We just click. It just works and it works well.

I don't care what anyone says, you are never 'Stuck' in a relationship. There's always an 'Out'. Life is too short man.

Yes! My wife has lost her mind and turned into a lazy slob. She refuses to keep a job and uses fibromyalgia as a scapegoat. We haven't been intimate in years. Our kids are socially retarded. The oldest is developing anxiety and depression issues. I basically spend all my time alone in my basement office.

Re: Do you regret getting married?
I'm happily married. We started dating at 16, got married at 25 and are now 30.

She is smart, sweet, hard working and beautiful. She laughs at my stupid jokes and encourages me to be better. We generally agree on most things such as food, movies and music. I supported her though nursing school and got to see how hard she works and how smart she is. Now we have dual income no kids and life is easy. Will have kids in the next year or two, Lord willing.

Even when we fight, it doesn't last more than a day. She knew me when I was a punk kid, and still fell on love with me.... no one else will ever be able to replace the depth that we know each other. You will never cherish what you lust after and a lot of unhappy men would rather lust than fix what they have unfortunately.
