This is stupid and sets a bad precedent. I understand you all hate it, but it's the law. The congress passed it, we all know that the house and the senate. The lpresident signed it and the Supreme Court interpreted it as constitutional. it's the law. we can debate if its good or bad but it's the law. There are many who thinks social security and Medicare is bad but they are the law. If republicans want to not fund a law because they don't like it, what will keep democrats from tearing down the second amendment or not funding the government. It sets a bad precedent for the future, one that republicans are setting and can come down to bite them so hard that it will change the country to a scary level. Again democrats are holding ground because they are funding what's already a US law, they have the merits and most Americans see it that way. Republican Party is going to lose on this issue and be less compeitive because of this stance.

It is a very disingenuous argument that the House and the Senate passed the bill when in fact the Democratic Party passed the bill simply because they controlled both the house and senate.

Even with control over both branches, they still had to twist arms, bribe and blackmail politicians, and use gimmicks to get it passed.

And the Supreme Court ruled the government had the power to tax.

LMAO you're a fucking idiot. Show me some proof. What insight could a Canadian possibly have on American politics?

First, I'm not that poster but I fail to see why, in today's world where we meet and discuss with each other daily that as a Canadian I cannot have insight into the political workings of the world's (until recently) super power.

That poster was wrong on the House but the Senate is indeed Democrat dominant and the whole taxation thing, I'm pretty sure is a reference to the 16th amendment.

Now, either humbly accept that you are not the sole nation that can think or never speak of another country again. Even better, try to stop identifying through segregation... you might just learn something about your fellow human.

..suggestions, of course.
