MSNBC has the live vote, so far its 210-190, it will pass the house and obviously the senate will not pass it, thus sending the goverment into the first shut down since 1996!!!


How can these idiot democrats say that the republicans are holding the nation hostage with a futile attempt at stopping obamacare when the nation is OVERWHELMINGLY against obamacare and is desperately asking somebody to step in and stop it???

my understanding is that basically anything federally paid will not have money allocated towards it..... since they basically slipped in the obamacare 1 year wait into the budget outline that has to be approved providing money for the federal programs.

This is stupid and sets a bad precedent. I understand you all hate it, but it's the law. The congress passed it, we all know that the house and the senate. The lpresident signed it and the Supreme Court interpreted it as constitutional. it's the law. we can debate if its good or bad but it's the law. There are many who thinks social security and Medicare is bad but they are the law. If republicans want to not fund a law because they don't like it, what will keep democrats from tearing down the second amendment or not funding the government. It sets a bad precedent for the future, one that republicans are setting and can come down to bite them so hard that it will change the country to a scary level. Again democrats are holding ground because they are funding what's already a US law, they have the merits and most Americans see it that way. Republican Party is going to lose on this issue and be less compeitive because of this stance.

While I agree with all the above thoughts -- the percentage of people who disapprove of ObamaCare is significantly less than the percentage of people who want to government to shut down. The will of the people is to avoid a shutdown, and deal with the other issues in a more controlled manner. Sorry if that interferes with eye-bulging, ranting, dooming perspective

Actually GENIOUS this is NOT a Law because the SCOTUS made them admit it was a tax in order to make it legal RIGHT? Right. ANY and ALL increases to the governments revenue I.E. Taxes must and I repeat MUST originate in the house of representatives. This piece of shit legislation was never even voted on by the house! Its unconstitutional and therefore BUNK. Yeah and you can throw in the UNRATTIFIED federal reserve act too. Oh and for the record SCOTUS = Supreme Court Of The United States.
