During Obama's speech today he said, why do this (referring to the republicans and the shut down). He said, just when the economy is getting going again.

Well that's a laugh because the economy is not really growing and I don't see how employers moving to a less then 40 hour work week, because of Obama-care helps the economy.

The democrats refused to work with the republicans when they first came up with this horrible bill and they refuse to work with them now. Thus the position we find ourselves in currently.

The democrats IMO are the ones who wanted the shutdown to try and blame the republicans for it and use that to try and gain more seats in congress.

Hopefully the republicans don't back down. You have to stand for something, or you stand for nothing.

Government is merely a mechanism for running the national household. Some functions are better done in-house, some are better put to tender. The sub-prime fiasco should be a red flag that the market place can lose the plot when greed usurps national policy on certain issues.

Yeah, and the news keeps telling everyone that we are recovering. They want us all to believe this illusion that we are all doing so much better, although millions are on food stamps.

but... during the "pretty" season... Autumn...

The national parks in my area are closed... and there are several...

several counties here require the tourist traffic for business... gas stations... tourist traps, etc

This is already a poor ass area... now for however long the gov is shut down... this area will lose tourists... during the busiest season... they will lose money...

Why the fuck does the gov need to run the state parks?
