This tells me they anticipate gov't will be shutdown until mid month! I met a fed reserve employee who indicated in conversation that things are extremely fragile and unstable... I'm so mad... This is really hitting the worker-bees so to speak... NOT TPTB. Totally unfair. They are the ones who are supposed to service the citizens of this country. The citizens are being punished for the incompetance of these idiots in power. It wouldn't surprise me if there was a revolution in a couple of weeks if these idiots keep hurting the citizens further. Honestly, things are so tense here. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 20589235 United States 10/01/2013 12:59 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | SIMPLE: Recession, or rather a slow down in growth, is starting to hit China and India HARD. Those two places have been the BIG BUYERS of physical gold (and more is being mined each day so there IS a constant NEW supply hitting the market). Supply /Demand 101. Sometimes, but not often, even in the face of increased supply Gold (and Silver) goes UP in value, but that is when inflation is nipping at everybody's heels OR when a major WAR type of crisis appears on the horizon (when it is a "FINANCIAL" crisis Gold /Silver virtually ALWAYS GO DOWN - driven by the FORCED SELLING by holders who have to sell so as to raise cash to meet margin or loan calls on their other investments) At the moment: * LESS Demand from China and India * The specter of DEflation NOT INflation hangs over the financial markets (note both the M1 vs M2/M3 numbers in the US, the recent Fed Comments when they didn't begin to tighten on their QE, AND the sudden fall off in auto sales) Finally: the threat of Immediate War in the Middle East has also declined considerably compared to just a few weeks ago ... which adds stability to the system and the more stable things are in the overall scheme of things the less people feel the need for "insurance" in the form of precious metals. I would only be shocked in Gold was Rising. Gold Falling is EXACTLY what it should be doing at the moment if you look at the underlying supply /demand considerations. |
