He does it when he is worried about question period and getting caught up. Harper is a crapper too. He does what ever he wants and gets away with it. ugh I so had politics anymore. Quoting: canadian oldster Actually, Prime Minister Harper goes to the Governor General and requests a prorogation, it's not Harper's decision per se. But this does seem to happen a lot under Harper. |

You just need to understand what used to be the American work ethic. Most of us 30 and over still have it, yet few younger can say the same. The work ethic of which I speak is, if you are going to do something, do it RIGHT. So our position is simply, why stop there? My spontaneous and slightly biased guess would be that probably 90% of the federal government is bloated pork that can't lie, cheat and steal enough money from the American people through official means to support their own budgets so they have to own all of the black markets as well to do it. So really, why do we need any of THEM (the 90%) at all? If we did it RIGHT, and shutdown EVERY function of the fed that exists EXCLUSIVELY to serve the interests and well being of the fed, meaning, does NOT serve the interests and well being of the American people, then we would instantaneously reduce taxes by unfathomable margins, stimulate the economy by putting the construction industry back to work remodeling all of the federal buildings into government subsidized housing for the masses that no longer receive indefinite welfare, and give every department of the fed still existing a major budget surplus for say the next three decades or so. Or at least that is what our leaders would do if they had any American work ethic. |

In Belgium, No public services were cancelled, all public workers were paid. It was just 541 days without a new government after the elections. The old government stayed in place and kept things running. No new laws were made, no budget was decided upon. They would work with the old budget on a month to month basis. No long term decision were taken. Also bad. But not nearly as bad as a complete shutdown. |
