There is something in the sky... w/pic The other thread is too full of retardedness so im starting my own... 3 days ago me and my wife were driving to SLC on the freeway from the ogden area. When i looked up at the sky and noticed a faint object in the sky that looked like an airplane but was not moving or red/green lights. It was not very bright so i figured meh, just a plane. well tonight i read the thread on "there really is something in the sky" and about shit myself... what they are seeing seemed to sound exactly like what we had seen. So we decided to go for a drive again to see if we could see it. to my amazement..... it was there again, just becoming visible at sunset, and getting brighter and brighter as we drive (40 minute drive) until finally the sun has all but set and it is now VERY bright (still no stars out). I have verified with my wife that it is in fact not my imagination and this thing has DEFINATELY gotten much bigger/brighter in the last 2 days. We also are both POSITIVE that we have never noticed it before and we drive the same drive almost every day for the last 2 years. Whatever it is... it is getting bigger/brighter.... I snapped a crappy pic with my crappy blackberry but its zoomed out enough to see size compared with the mcdonalds sign while we were driving and trying to steady it. [link to tinypic.com]

There is something in the sky... w/pic btw, this is in the western sky, if your looking directly at the horizon its about 20 feet off the ground, slightly south western. Look for the sun setting, and then look just left and what equates to something about 20 feet tall in front of you. also.... clouds rolled in, and it MAY be why... but about an hour after sunset i could no longer see this object in the sky, it basically disappeared. If its clear tomorrow i will verify whether or not it disappears or not. im slightly freaked out that the shutdown and all the satelites on the fritz as well as nasa shutting down the programs is starting to seem like too much of a coincidence.... what if 2012 really was a year off.....

It pops out about 45 degrees dead west as the sun sets, then it sinks about 30-40 minutes after sun goes down. I think it's Venus, sinking down in the west and rising in the east around 2:45 am.

Though Neptune was supposed the be in the same view of the sky, but I could not see it. I am reminded of the thread a while back that said that Pluto had brightened. This, indicating that the we had entered the interstellar fluff. Could Uranus have brightened as well? To add to the oddity, I had a dream a few nights ago, that MARS had become bright, all of a sudden, and became brighter than Venus. in my dream, there was flooding, lots of flooding. And animals everywhere. In particular, I saw Lions (female) or could have been mountain lions, but they were eating people. For anyone who thinks it's venus, IT IS NOT.

There is something in the sky... w/pic get google sky maps for your smart phone, turn your gps on and point your phone to the sky and it will tell you what you are looking at, you can even do a search and it will direct you to what you are looking for. Great app but i just wish i could track ISON with it.

There is something in the sky... w/pic I know what you are talking about OP-- Saw the same flashing red green, and yellow lights but it was some kind of aircraft that was at an airport 50 miles away, but the pattern did not match "regular " aircraft strobes. I saw it in nearly the same position a couple nights later. It may have been a helicopter or a blimp. Baltimore had a Navy blimp doing "mapping" in their area that disturbed some people. Makes me wonder if there are more blimps hanging out around the nation acting as beacons for something....
