Quoting: Anonymous Coward 47888775 Once again, your illiteracy rears its ugly head, and I won't waste my time twice on someone who can't read. straight from your keyboard... "Prior to obamacare being passed, the average cost was around $400 PER YEAR. As soon as obamacare was passed, my costs went up to about $950 (for exactly the same services and medication)." you even "All Capped" the words PER YEAR His out of pocket expenses are rising due to obamacare. He's saying it isn't worth paying 4k plus deductible for what he can currently afford out of pocket. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 47657794 United States 10/04/2013 08:07 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I keep seeing these threads about how $175/month for a healthy young male is too much. Quoting: chrion777 I can tell you, I've shopped for rates before and this is NORMAL rates. It is well over $150/month to get normal insurance that covers office visit, hospital, labs, imaging and pharmacy (prescription drugs). All of these comments ... "but you can get it for $45/month" are B.S. Those are NOT real plans. They do not cover prescription drugs, or major hospitalizations. It's basically fake coverage for people to think they have insurance (until they really need it). I think this thread deserves a PIN. I never ask for a PIN but this is important. I know it goes against the grain on here. Then proof it. PIN THIS, and show me I'm wrong. What you say may be true but in Obozocare with a deductible in the many thousands of Dollars "It's basically fake coverage for people to think they have insurance (until they really need it)." is applicable. Your going to have to pay thousands of Dollars until you reach the deductible limit BEFORE you insurance kicks in. 6 in one half a dozen in the other. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 46603648 United States 10/04/2013 08:07 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Our cost are about what we pay through employer but we only pick up half. Employer picks up the other half. That's what most companies do, so that's why it looks so high because you're only used to paying half (while employers picks up rest). But... We would get back half in our tax return (if I read that correctly) It didn't sound like a deduction but actual reimbursement but idk. So, out of pocket for insurance would be the same (except you would have to payroll yourself all of it until tax time). But... If what everyone is saying is correct *because it doesn't let us no on the calculator simulation* The coverage would be much more sucky than what we have now and the deductible, well there's no way we could even pay that. Same amount for us, shittier coverage-higher deductable, gotta bankroll yourself until tax time and then save that for the deductible in case you need it. |
