Thanks! Yeah, that was my initial thought too, but then I realized they had the training in CA last year too, so maybe it's like Bohemian Grove for Law Enforcement types?

For anyone that is interested, here is a bit more details about the Boston Event and the various Urban Shield, Strategic Operations & DHS (HSEEP) connections.

Anyways I personally don't think anything major will happen in California DURING this Urban Shield drill on Oct 25-28... that being said I have a strong feeling they might try to pull something off just after the drill is finished (the following day in fact, on Oct 29, 2013) in or fairly close to either San Diego CA, Pasadena CA (LA area) or Palo Alta (San Fran area), which if something did happen would likely involve an attack at either a large school campus (such as SDSU) or a popular international airport (such as LAX or SFO) or possibly even both attacks over the course of a few hours, with a similar theme to the Boston event (homemade backpack bombs in populated areas) with the possibility for additional similarities to the Santa Monica event as well (Assault Rifles + TONS of ammo).

I guess only time will tell, but I will definitely be watching this area fairly closely during the end of Oct (especially the 29th).

She and her fellow cohort at FEMA had just done a huge exercise with the state of California and a drill on a potential San Francisco earthquake. So from a logistical point of view, it was extraordinarily smooth.
