Lots and lots of Mexicans in small Midwest towns. Have been for 15-20 years or so. Started seeing them in rural areas and small towns before large cities. I was a courier in Indiana and covered most of the State. Ironically, I live in Florida now and hardly ever see Hispanics, especially Mexicans. 98% White and probably >75% old.

Most humans speak more than one language . Americans don't wan to learn any other.

BS most do not speak more than one, hence the need for a Spanish commercial as the target audience speaks only Spanish. Go to south and central America-Spanish (Brazil-Portuguese) Middle east-Arabic Japan-Japanese, etc. Go to these places and the local populace will typically only speak the one language, knowing a few regional dialects of the same language is not the same as being polylingual.

My guess is that the multiple language snobs are coming from Europe where many countries the size of states in the USA have different languages and knowing the language of your neighbor is necessary for commerce. Not exactly as awe inspiring as you would like it to be. Hubris much?

True, TWC-Time Warner Cable, is targeting Spanish-only speaking people. This is the USA and the language for all business, government, etc. should be English. My ancestry is German and when my Great-grandfather and great-grandmother and their relatives came to the US, they learned English.

It is not a difficult concept, you move to a country - you adopt their language. You assimilate or why the heck did you come to the country in the first place?

Not in their own country they don't. Why should they? You wade across the border and sponge off America's welfare programs and take seats in universities away from actual Americans, at least have the common courtesy to speak English.
