California Earthquake Only A 4.4, But 2014 Predictions Claim Disaster Ahead

Posted in: Theories Posted: March 17, 2014

. . . .
Greg Beroza, a geophysics professor at Stanford, recently published his work in a January edition of the journal Science. Scientists discovered that, in addition to seismometers stationed near the San Andreas fault, they could use a computer simulation to make predictions based upon the “ambient seismic field generated by ocean waves interacting with the Earth.” Based upon the previous results they’ve been predicting a Los Angeles earthquake in 2014 that may be worse than feared. . .

Another organization called Global Weather Oscillations Inc. published a report in April of 2011 that claimed the California earthquake 2014 risk was far greater than other years. While they claim March has the high risk, they also say there is a 75 percent risk of a 7.0 to 8.0 magnitude Los Angeles earthquake from now until June of 2014. Their report also extends out to June of 2016, where the risk is said to diminish down to only seven percent.

An interesting theory I came across and posted before was the correlation between New and Full Moon and Earthquakes specifically to CA and the east side of the ring of fire. A connection has been made higher probability of eq at predawn and dawn and within 36 hours of a full or new moon (before and after).
[link to www.sfexaminer.com]

The last Mexico earthquake occurred on Oct 19, 2013 - M6.5 - 91km SW of Etchoropo, Mexico 2013-10-19 17:54:55 UTC.
Though it didn't occurr at predawn or dawn it did occurr in the 36 hour full moon period. The Last full moon was October 18, 2013

The Next full moon is tomorrow November 17, 2013 16:15 (GMT)
[link to www.moonphases.info]

I'm not sure I fully subscribe to this theory yet, but interesting to note and keep an eye on. . .

I am bringing this theory up again because I'm tracking it;
The 4.4 eq that happened in Fontana CA happened during the Full moon phase which was on January 15, 2014 09:53:35 PM ; the Fontana eq occurred on
4.4
5km N of Fontana, California
2014-01-15 01:35:18 UTC-08:003.6 km;

The Next New Moon (also referred to as a SuperMoon and Black Moon) occurs on January 30, 2014 02:40:35 PM;
Thread: Next SUPERMOON on Jan 30th, 2014-Also called *Lillith* the Black Moon in the Hebrew Mazzaroth

We will see if any significant EQ's occur during the 36 hours before and after this date and time (specifically the West Coast or East side of Ring of Fire)
 Quoting: quirk

The reason I'm pulling up this info again, correlation between New and Full Moon and Ca earthquakes, Tracking. . .

New moon March 30, 2014 11:48:06 AM
Ca earthquake, 5.1

Here is a brand new composite video by the Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) capturing the X1.0 solar flare this afternoon around sunspot 2017. It would appear when watching this movie that an associated shockwave is directed to the north. This would be the same scenario as both M2 flare events from yesterday. More updates to follow once coronagraph imagery becomes available.

Earthquake may have hit on dangerous fault that worries scientists
March 29, 2014, 7:30 p.m.

The magnitude-5.1 earthquake that rattled Southern California on Friday was a 10-second reminder of a fault that seismologists believe can produce a catastrophic disaster.
The Puente Hills thrust fault is so dangerous because of its location, running from the suburbs of northern Orange County, though the San Gabriel Valley and under the skyscrapers of downtown Los Angeles before ending in Hollywood.
Experts say a major 7.5-magnitude earthquake on the fault could do more damage to the heart of Los Angeles than the dreaded Big One on the San Andreas fault, which is located on the outskirts of metropolitan Southern California.
The size of Friday’s quake was considered moderate, but it packed a punch.. . . .

Yellowstone Earthquake: Volcanic Eruption Not Expected After Strongest Tremor in 29 Years

Yellowstone National Park was shaken by its largest earthquake in 29 years Sunday, but scientists say there is no concern that the quake will lead to an eruption of the Yellowstone Caldera, a supervolcano located in the park.

The magnitude-4.8 earthquake struck inside the park boundaries at 6:34 a.m. MDT Sunday. The epicenter was near the middle of the par, near the Norris Geyser Basin, according to Peter Cervelli of the U.S. Geological Survey.

Earthquake Details

The quake, the largest since another 4.8 tremor in 1985, was preceded by two foreshocks measuring 2.8 and 3.0 at 12:23 a.m. and 4:36 a.m. Sunday, respectively. The main shock was then followed by at least four aftershocks ranging in magnitude from 2.5 to 3.3 later Sunday morning.. . .

Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning.

The world is a dangerous place to live; not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don't do anything about it.

The difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has its limits.

You have to learn the rules of the game. And then you have to play better than anyone else.

A minor geomagnetic storm watch has been issued by the NOAA space weather prediction center (SWPC). A couple of coronal mass ejections stemming from eruptions around 2017 may deliver glancing blows to our geomagnetic field by late on April 1st. Sky watchers should remain alert during the next several days.
