 Quoting: quirk

An earthquake of 7.3 magnitude has hit 231 miles (371 kilometers) east of Japan’s Honshu Island, according to the US Geological Survey. Meteorologists warn that a 1-meter-high tsunami could follow.

Tsunami was due to hit at 17.42 GMT in Fukushima region, Japanese Weather Agency has predicted, but a US Pacific tsunami warning center says there is no destructive widespread threat following the quake.

The quake struck at a depth of 10 kilometers at 3:10am local time, 320 km southeast of Ishinomaki in Miyagi Prefecture, according to the US Geological Survey. Strong tremors could be felt on Honshu Island as well as at the northern island of Hokkaido.

There were no immediate reports of damage on land from the quake. The Japan Meteorological Agency issued a "yellow" warning in the wake of the quake meaning the the tsunami is not expected to exceed a height of 1 meter.

This would be far smaller than the wave that hit the plant in 2011.

Update 17:51 UTC : JMA Japan has extended the reach of the Tsunami waves along almost the full North Eastern Honshu shoreline. NO tsunami higher than 1 meter is expected though

Update 17:51 UTC : More information about the expected tsunami (max. wave 1 meter) - IWATE PREF. 1 m, MIYAGI PREF. #1 m, FUKUSHIMA PREF. 1 m, IBARAKI PREF. 1 m and UJUKURI AND SOTOBO AREA, CHIBA PREF. 1 m.
What means a Tsunami height of 1 meter ? : 1 m People will be caught in a strong current in the sea. Fish farming facilities will be washed away and small vessels will capsize.

I've noticed a pattern of high probability of at least a 6 or 6+ occurring within days of a Buoy going into EVENT mode, unfortunately hard to narrow down to a specific place or time, this specific buoy 56003 has been behaving erratic in last month, with various adjustment so it seemed logical and high probability of some major seismic activity going on (not a malfunction of the buoy)

Buoy 21415 near Alaska still out of service.
ART station 21415 has stopped transmitting water column height or tsunami data and has been declared inoperative as of 8/16/2013. It will be serviced when it can be worked into the maintenance schedule.
[link to www.ndbc.noaa.gov]

Both of these buoys were instrumental in assisting with Bending Light original theory,

USUALLY (at least for the last 6 events) the pattern was as follows:

1) Indonesian buoys in event mode
2) Alaskan buoys in event mode
3) LARGE EQ in Northern part of South America.

Thread: Indo-Australian plate adjustments = LARGE Quakes in lower Americas within days, now 6 times in a row! Crustal displacement sequence evident!
