Paying attention? Do you want to know what I see? I see a bunch of whiny ass babies that on one hand cant wait for the 'government' to get the hell outta their business, and when they finally do they get all pissed off because their precious government services aren't available.

Do you want to know why the parks are shut down - because they are federal property that was purchased with tax payer money, if someone gets stupid and falls into a hot geyser in yellowstone - the government gets sued. So yeah the government has to protects itself from dumbass morons, but oh wait, why dont we just give that land back to people, better yet they could sell it to the corps - and it could be exploited or charge phenomenal fees to look at the Grand Canyon(you think $25 bucks is pricey to get in, wait until the fees triple).

And amber alert? If everyone is so damn dependent on amber alert, how come the states haven't come together and funded it themselves or some charitable organizations stepped up? Why because everyone's so damn worried about themselves and their profit. Screw the little guy, who gives a shit about him? Who cares if someone takes his kid, I can afford to send mine to private schools with 24 hour day care.

I think too many people take for granted that the government is run for the people, and by the people - the asshats in congress? They are there for the circus, the real work is done by the people who are currently out of a job, and 99% actually care about how their government is MANAGED not REGULATED.

1) I'd be outraged if I were in America right now. Shutting down Amber alert? Not cool, man. Apparently missing children is a secondary concern to golf courses and sitting for portraits.

2)Perhaps Amber alert would be better off run with local donations and employ people (or have volunteers) who actually fucking careabout missing children instead of employing some fat assed lazy bureaucrat putting in time for a good pension and a bloated paycheque?
