Looks like Financial Meltdown, Part II, is starting NOW! | |
Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 47660516 United States 10/08/2013 10:58 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Up until this morning, and for the past several years, whenever gold and silver have gone up, the Dow has typically been going up to. TREND APPEARS TO BE BREAKING. This would signal that the astute investor is exiting the bogus securities markets and buying PMs. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 47660516 DOW down 72..and sliding as I type. GOLD up $5.90 SILVER up $.12 These numbers are meaningless in today's markets. With high-frequency, algorhythm-based computer 'flash' trading, the big boys can push the market wherever they want and create the illusion of bullish or bearish activity at their whim. When the Dow loses 750-1000 points in a session, and precious metals gain 10-15% in the same timeframe, then it's time to take notice. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1554827 United States 10/08/2013 11:37 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It's the bond markets that you should look to for the first signs of a meltdown. That's where it will start. If you think that the Fed is buying $85B a month in US Treasuries/MBS to keep the US$ afloat, think again. Its closer to double that, as they are soaking up bonds being sold by foreign governments that are trying to divest their holdings away from the US$. |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 47660516 United States 10/08/2013 11:51 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | DOW: down 94.40 (low of the session) Silver: up $.07 gold: up $4.80 And I watch these most every day too, and the divergence is new (for the past few years). In the early 2000s, this was common, but the manipulation of the PM markets has had them in tandem for quite some time now, until today. PMs= Precious Metals, yes. |

Also, anyone who watches the DOW at all knows it has been TOTALLY MANIPULATED to avoid sharp intra-day (and sudden/natural/free market) spikes either way ever since the flash crash too. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1554827 United States 10/08/2013 12:18 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You're monitoring indices that are somewhat meaningless in today's economic environment. If you want to spot disaster looming on the horizon, then keep an eye on the 10-year treasury yield, - and on the dollar index. Any serious fluctuations in either of these will REALLY move the markets for both stocks and precious metals. |

The need confidence to make it all happen... when people loose confidence and decide to pull out, there is little the market-makers can do other than (for a while) hold pricing steady by buying the shares of those running to the sidelines. THIS is why, when it finally falls, it will fall big time...when the MM decide to withdraw their support, the delta between what an asset is really valued at, and the price the MM were "supporting" will be revealed. |
