Yes Obamacare is shit I agree, it's just weird how much everyone rags on the single payer system on this site when if implemented right it is amazing!

most of them have just never seen/expierienced any other way and unfortunately this Obamacare fiasco is only going to
reinforce the negativity toward a single payer system.

The above quotes sum it up Superdave, Chowan is from the US and actually gets it. Most Americans have been brainwashed into thinking Single Payer is some evil commie scheme which is why the healthcare system is in the trouble it is, when other countries flourish. It's sad.

Then why do the wealthy from other countries come to the USA for treatment? You need competition in then marketplace to further technological advancements in medicine. I do not want to wait six months to see a doctor for a cold that lasts one week.

Well I am one American that is not loyal to either repubs or demos...independent...and although I will be flamed, I agree with you. IF our country has to go this route, single payer set up correctly would be the least damage done to the public. Do I agree it's socialism, yes, but if everyone looks around our system is not PURE anything...we have the whole kitchen sink of "systems" in the U.S., it's capitalism for the rich, communism/socialism for the poor. True socialism is for the worker, common man, it's not to the benefit of large corps./bankers, as BamBam Care is...so IMO: You're so right, it turns people into just wanting to throw the baby out with the bath water, without realizing, our government IS going to force something on us, so since that IS the case, and we have no recourse other than to go uninsured (bankrupt in some cases) then we should be fighting for the next best thing, which would be single payer, all in, no exceptions, affordable. We'll never get our republic back, never...so it's rather a moot point...sometimes you have to lose some battles to win the war, we've been so deceived with propaganda.

Is single payer ideal? No. Is anything ideal once the government gets its hands into it? No. But if the slave masters aren't going to insure their own cattle, it's the next best thing to dying for the majority of working people, because under BamBamCare, many I predict will lose the insurance they had, and not be able to afford any, whereas with a SP system, maybe they had a chance.

I was fine with employer paid, have always worked up until recently, also fine with paying cash out of pocket if not insured, but with the laws the way they are now, the common person can no longer file Chapter 7 outright (means tested) to save their assets if they get hit with an unpayable medical bill... so this being the case, they face losing everything...with a SP system, even if they take 10% of your gross earnings per year (and no deductibles), at least the people retain their hard earned assets, under the capitalist system the wealthy are running now, they face losing everything because again, it's ONLY capitalism for the wealthy in this country, not the middle class/working class/poor.

Rant off.

You know what I find curious? Not one person has easked the question: If we do in fact go all in with a Government run healthcare system, what happens to our access to it when there's another Government shut down? Does your child's access to the emergency room after a car accident get treated like someone wanting to visit the WWII Memorial?

This past week should serve as a reminder of why this law should NEVER get implemented for any reason at anytime.

He doesn't really nail the issue. They both dance around the fact that you are FORCED to buy health insurance. They try to purposely avoid noting that with stupid little euphemisms like, "You don't need it until January."
