About time we do this for nothing..

This will separate the men from the boys..

This affects all disabled veterans, federally employed veterans and civilians being furloughed, many active military, spouses, widows and widowers, children as well as all the private landlords and companies that won't get paid.

Since a large majority of veterans are disabled and rely on their benefits and live paycheck to paycheck, they will be going out looking for help through other social services. Many of which will probably also be closed down as well.

So Shinseki is stupid enough to continue to pay large sums of backpay for disability claims instead of putting that on hold so he would have enough money to pay the monthly benefits. If that isn't planned I don't know what is!!

The VA hospitals and Vet Centers will still be staffed and running because they have their 2014 funding already appropriated.

Basically the committee concluded that if they don't pass a bill to protect the vets this week, before the default, shit will hit the fan.

I bet ! I hope the best for You and I also hope Our Military does whats right and defends our Constitution if needed against our Own Leaders !

I knew a vet on a worksite, He moved so slow they let him go.

All these people bitching that the disabled, the slow and those on benefits should work. Worksites dont want them, they slow down productivity and costs the company too much money

We forget what kind of world we live in, a world where only the super fit, super beautiful, super psycho path, or super sheep that are willing to work two jobs to send the pay back to mexico, make it.

I'd venture to bet that if you added up the salaries of the exec branch, senate, house and judiciary it would still add up to more.

But, they won't cut what makes sense...only what hurts the most in the 'peon' class.

I get the chapter 33 benefits (post 9/11 gi bill) for my school tuition and it won't be paid if this happens. this is thousands in tuition hanging above my head, I have been working my ass off in an accelerated program so I can get the shit done and make good money for my family. I have even networked with people that say to keep in touch and I may have a job but if I don't graduate on time or don't even finish? I'm jobless and in debt.

not gonna happen for ya congressmen....the vets will get paid even if the shutdown continues.

It would seem they want the civil war to start... am I wrong? If they want it to start, why exactly would they want to favor the opposite side of authoritarian government?

on the otherside of this shutdown, is the return of our REPUBLIC form of government....everything is going to change, banksters gone, SCOTUS paid decisions makers...gone, it's gonna be all different and better....plenty of loans at low interest rates....no more dumb credit ratings that are meaningless......many new jobs, cause many new businesses will get loans...it's all gonna be just fine people....relax

the vets will get what they earned....honor and plenty of $$$$ in different ways.

This effects my Son & daughter in law. He has been off work 9 days and I talked to him today, he told me they are making plans to be able to get out of the city. He works for the DOJ, as a lead investigator for ICE.

he is also preparing for other things. Let me tell ya, I believe he knows something BIG is coming due to our conversation and the preps he is doing.

i am FOR all vets getting the same paid healthcare as congress gets...for the rest of their life!

In 2011(the last year I could find the stats for) there were a little over 60,000 "anchor babies" born......in Texas alone.

all that is going to change...anchor babies will get no SSI, probably will be deported to Mexico and put up for adoption....mexicans belong in mexico....blacks belong in Africa...etc etc etc..... America is not the land for all races to come and take jobs from caucsian america.

things are going to change......i see NSA as protecting the border and doing nothing else...they are security after all...massive amounts of money has been spent on their agency.....so 24/7 they can watch the border with their drones....end of many problems in USA...race problems are easily sovled....just deport them back to the land they belong on.

you see i do not believe the USA owes blacks, browns, asians, a living...they have a country where they are suppose to be living ..... america is broke, and i see no reason why we have to give these yo yos SSI, when we can't afford it....deportation is cheaper, easier.

yep, not right, if a soul gives the ultimate sacrifice for our country; his family needs to be compensated with death benefits, to include his children for the loss of the head of the household, main provider. the USA is not a cheap shot, we use to value our military....lots of changes after the shutdown....all positive

Stop and think about this for a moment. If they cut off vets and Social security and who knows what else, it is the perfect opportunity for us all. It will force us to join together. We will have no choice but to start helping each other out in order to eat,gas, houses, and moral support. We will once again all find out what is really important in life. It will cause us all to become bonded together in order to survive.We the people will get out sense of direction back, our unity, and our responsabilty and at the same time we WILL as one have the strength and organization to kick these corrupt creeps out of office, run the corrupt bankers out of our country,give free loading illeagle aliens out of our borders and only allow the ones in that come to be a part of us in the right ways to stay or come here.This can give up the power we need to clean up this shit house that our once great country has become. I know its scary as hell,,i and my family have already been suffering and will be first in line for more if there are any more cut backs, but i will gladly eat a bowl of rice washed down with water and shared with others in my community if it means that we will all start pulling together again, stop the fussing and the dog eat dog mentality that has become all of us. Lets us not fear, but use these hard times to get our heads straight. This is the opposite of what the feds want, but here is a way we CAN start to stand up to them,in a peacefull way, and if when we have pulled together in our hard time and that is not enough,,,well we will be a force that NO ONE can recon with!!

If this truly pisses you off then please give some even if it is $5 to Fisher House. They have stepped up and will be paying for this. The Fisher House generously agreed to offer the families an advance grant until the government can make reimbursements at an appropriate time. The Fisher House will also cover flights, hotels and other incidentals for family members.
This is one of the good charities that truly helps our military. I sent them $10 cause I am short on cash but every bit helps.

We need to remember that charity and aid used to come from the churches and neighbors.
