"The conduct of the National Park Service over the last week might be the biggest scandal of the Obama administration"
"The conduct of the National Park Service over the last week might be the biggest scandal of the Obama administration. This is an expansive claim, of course. Benghazi, Fast and Furious, the IRS, the NSA, the HHS mandate—this is an administration that has not lacked for appalling abuses of power. And we still have three years to go."

"It’s one thing for politicians to play shutdown theater. It’s another thing entirely for a civil bureaucracy entrusted with the privilege of caring for our national heritage to wage war against the citizenry on behalf of a political party."

Re: "The conduct of the National Park Service over the last week might be the biggest scandal of the Obama administration"
“To make life as difficult for people as we can”—that would be an apt motto for the Obama worldview. And now even the misanthropes at the National Park Service have been yoked to his project. This is the clearest example yet of how the president understands the relationship between his government and the citizenry"

Obama completely owns this.

The National Park system is under control of the Secretary of Interior. The Secretary of the Interior is part of Obama's cabinet. These types of orders are coming directly from the White House.

“These figures are mind-boggling and they only begin to capture the full economic shock of the locking up the crown jewels of America – our national parks,” Maureen Finnerty, former superintendent of both Everglades and Olympic National Park, said in a statement. “Towns, cities and even whole states that depend on park tourism are feeling an increasingly strong pinch.

Re: "The conduct of the National Park Service over the last week might be the biggest scandal of the Obama administration"
I've tried to email and call NPS- they claim they are 'closed'. Isn't that a hoot?

I'm gonna give every Ranger I come across in the future shit for their Department's actions. Shame on them! They will be reminded who the government works for, who the Rangers work for and who really owns the parks and monuments. I will tell them just how disgusted people like us are with them. (if you are not disgusted, then your moral compass is screwed up - so just f-off)

When the park service reopens, I will send 'shame on you' emails and make calls. I am pissed and they are gonna know it.

I CHALLENGE each of you to do the same.

These 'make it hurt' policy following Rangers need to know how utterly shameful their actions have been. They could have chosen another path. I would quit a job in a moment flat before moral compromise. Especially if it involved harassing those WWII vets, all other vets, throwing people out of their homes, keeping people from their livelihood, stripping personal items from graves (what level of disturbed must you be?), and the many other nasty stunts pulled.

I don't even want to think what would happen in a true emergency? Hunt people down bugging out to the forest? Tossing people out of homes permanently? Get it into their heads where they should stand and that they better stand with the people next time and not against.

Closing down parks, monuments and memorials just to score political points is hardly your most insidious deed, but it’s certainly one of your pettiest. That’s why it stands, ironically, as a monument of its own. If we ever build a statue of you, Mr. President, you won’t be triumphantly holding a flaming torch like Lady Liberty, or standing authoritatively with a look of determination, like the MLK memorial. No, it will be a statue of you pulling the wings off of a fly, or spitting in someone’s orange juice. It will show you in your essence, as monuments are meant to do. It will show you as a petulant, skulking, juvenile bully. It will show you as you are.

And we’ll make sure it’s always open, especially during a government shut down.

Sincerely,

Matt Walsh

Shit didn't happen like this in Shutdown95, and the non.gov workers need to get back to work in the parks while the jackasses in DC squabble.

Maybe just taking a pic and posting it of each ranger and their name that is at each roadblock. I hate to think of what a bunch of computer nerds could do with just a photo and a name to make life miserable for a public servant.

Uh...let's not forget the biggest scandals....

1). Obama is not the President and can never be the President, yet he occupies the Oval Office. The candidates running against him all had the same problem as well.

2). Obama murders lots and lots of people. See "kill lists", "drone strikes", Michael Hastings, Andrew Breitbart, Seal Team 6

3). Sandy Hook, Boston Bombing, NSA, etc

4). Forged Birth Certificate and fraudulent use of dead people's SS#'s

5). Faked the assassination of Osama

6). EVERYTHING HE DOES IS TREASONOUS
