I believe in God the Father, Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth:
And in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord:
Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary:
Suffered under Pontius Pilate; was crucified, dead and buried: He descended into hell:
The third day he rose again from the dead:
He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty:
From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead:
I believe in the Holy Ghost:
I believe in the holy catholic church: the communion of saints:
The forgiveness of sins:
The resurrection of the body:
And the life everlasting. Amen.

I never liked working. To have someone telling me what to do never appealed to me.

I rater live in a small place, ride my bike, keeping my expenses low, feeling free.

Today I have a few websites and I don`t need to work.

While I sometimes say I hate my job, I think I am mostly bored at my job. It is basically a job I did 20 years ago in a different city, and the pay is right around I what I made 20 years ago, too. (Trade off is I moved to this city to help my aged parents.)

It is a not-for-profit, so it's not even like we have a product or service. It is very poorly run...the director is fiscally irresponsible. I do not think that any of my colleagues could get a job in a real company or business. Most have been there 10+ years. I've been there 9 months. One does not use a computer!

While what I am paid to do is communication & event mgmt, I have been working on setting up operational systems and guidelines and procedures. so far, what i keep hearing is that while they like the idea of procedures, they don't like the formality of them....rather fly byb the seatbof their pants, i guess. no checklists for the task-based jobs and no measures for the project-oriented ones. yikes!

The atmosphere is very timid and reactionary, vs bold and proactive. I don't really fit in there. There are no goals and no measures. When I insisted on a 90 day review, the director said she hadn't really been paying that close of attention to my work. wtf!??

Anyhow, at least the person who takes over my position (I plan on leaving VERY soon!) will have a full procedure/operations manual.

Whew! Do I feel better! Thanks for letting me bitch and get that off my mind, OP! hf
