I would think squeezing a watermelon out of a hole the size of a lemon is probably going to hurt... just makes sense.

Why was pain created in the first place? You think that a benevolent creator would created such a thing?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 30672081

So you would learn to avoid things that damage the body. Ever hear of those few people who don't feel pain, they are always getting hurt, they just don't feel it.

bump I just don't get.why the process had to be made to.be so painful and life threatening. If these modern day medicines did not exist most mothers probably would die during childbirth.

I had an awesome birth experience. We have made it hurt by accepting the inevitability that it will hurt.

It hurt at first, and then I changed my mind.

It's all because Eve fell to the devil's temptation, Adam and Eve ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, and from then on, childbirth was made painful.

Isn't that the strangest thing?

If one subscribed to nature then they would say to prevent too many childbirths. If that were the case though, g-strings would burn.

Re: Why was childbirth made to hurt?
Shouldnt "bringing a child into this world" be less stressful on the body if children are such "gifts"? Women back then died due to childbirth. Some women get post partum depression from the pain their bodies endured during labor. Alot of women even cry from pain when they first have sex. Is there any purpose behind this? Does the creator hate females...

and thy desire shall be to thy husband,
and he shall rule over thee.

Well if that were true, that pertains to women. Why didnt man get punished by enduring something painful on a similar level? Both first time sex and childlabor are painful for women. By your theory, only women got punished despite both genders taking part in the same thing.

Re: Why was childbirth made to hurt?
It hurts because of the RUSH, a.k.a., the push. In our shop-til-you-drop society, where time is money and everything is go-go-go (going nowhere, or even going to hell) , labor is a rushed experience. Look at how this giraffe gives birth:

The mama giraffe is clearly in no hurry, and she's just waiting for that sucker to drop out. Compare to how most humans decide to deliver- On their backs, pushing and shoving.

The baby's head needs time to mold, and the vagina needs time to loosen. Women should give birth ina way where their vagina are pointed downwards, allowing gravity to work it's magic.

Anyways, that's just my theory.

Because most women have kids for the wrong reasons. I suppose it is God's punishment to them.

But if you just had them with no pain, had a two month pregnancy like dogs and could just pop out 6-12 at a time, well, would you feel attached to the child and responsible for them, etc.? I'm afraid some women would just toss them in the trash if they didn't look cute enough to their eyes or eat them for dinner. Humans are very simple little greedy zombie animals at this point, beneath the facades, masks.

"Part of life"? . My question is why childbirth was created to be painful, not why reason deal with it. Why was pain created in the first place? You think that a benevolent creator would created such a thing?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 30672081

Well children wouldn't learn not to play with fire again (which can kill you) if the pain didn't exist. As for the reason why it has to exist during childbirth not sure if there's a "reason" per sey just more proof that babies aren't gifts.

Doubt that's the reason. Most women DIED during childbirth for centuries and centuries because the pain was too much more the mind and body to bear. That sounds like punishment.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 30672081

Most women did not die from Childbirth. Many did. But most? No. It's impossible. We wouldn't be here today if that were the case.

It's to make you realize this ain't just a little thing, it's a human being with a soul and a spirit, a mircle, not a sneeze or anything to be taken lightly. A broken leg is pointless but having a kid is not.

In all honesty I think it's about balance.

Everything in life is balanced. It's just the natural flow of things.

Ying and yang.

Pleasure and pain.

...dont' give me this bible shit either because animals feel pain too when it comes to reproducing. Did you know that after cats mate, when the male pulls his weenie out it feels like barbed wire to the female, and that's why she screeches in pain.

After humans picked free will over Yahweh we left the Garden of Eden and lost access to his painless labour tech.

Technically he didn't throw us out, WE LEFT because we had free will.

Re: Why was childbirth made to hurt?
This reality exists as a means to mitigate the infinite pain experienced within the supreme unified consciousness -- via segmentation/differentiation and the destruction of memory/awareness.

Our lives, our world, are pain receptors -- so to speak. All the "pleasure" felt in this world is actually nothing more than a cessation of pain. True "pleasure" is unknown to us.

In fact, biologically speaking, depression/sadness actually operates on the same neural pathways as "physical pain". They are, in fact, one and the same. So, we all experience pain, men and women, everyday, always.

Re: Why was childbirth made to hurt?
The truth is that there is nowhere to go. Our experiences and our awareness(es) are nothing more than fractured or uniquely presented aspects of the experience and awareness of the supreme consciousness that simply exists, in and of itself, knowing nothing other than itself. This really can't be any other way because we/it are a completely closed system.
