Love Vs Lust?

Yes that is akin to it...

I look at it as more about Selflessness Vs Selfishness!

lust is a rampant desire to possess

possess at all costs

How would I define lust?

I believe there is a good sort of lust that can take place between a man and woman involved in a committed realtionship - that is healthy - and very much akin to love and it's expression through lovemaking.




And of course, lust of all that you may or may not have - be it power, money, possessions, et.al.,

It is a greed and a selfishness that thinks of only consuming for self primarily and devil (and all others) take the hindmost.



It is the opposite of selflessness, in which state, a being sees external forces (and others) being more worthy of devotion/care, etc., than his or her self. The individual is rewarded exceedingly through selflessness - in fact, imo, much higher rewards are gained than opposed to those transitory awards gained through selfishness!

We only have control over our own actions and we are the ones responsible for our own happiness.

As I stated earlier, it begins with self.

One can hope that through example, one may have an influence upon others - for the better - (and also the worse, sadly) but the influence is most keenly felt, in my opinion, upon the young.

That's where 'self' starts - and that (youth) is where we must instill the values we wish to perpetuate!

It may appear as a cop-out - but truly - I have no magic formula for the world...I can only be the man that I am and hope that it is enough.

I cannot say...I have always known that there is a God - not from being taught - I just have always known (from very early childhood) and accepted that and and have sought to develop that spirituality within me.

I am, today, very much at peace with myself and the world around me. Not that I agree with the condition of things - but I strive to express my spirituality in all things.

But, it is not blatant. Normally, I would not speak of these things - but you have asked - and I am not ashamed -

it's just that I feel leading my example is preferred over teaching with words...many things are difficult to communicate with brevity...

No chastising needed, siniju...It was her topic fair and square and I was not invited to participate per se.

Had I felt dialog was not sought I would have kept my ass out of this thread.


I know from Zode's previous postings that she is not anti-male and I believe that in her heart of hearts that she feels neither is superior and neither has much value without the other. These are my opinions only and not that of Zode. These are my observations.


Why would I suck up to an anonymous person in a forum? This is an anonymous realm where ideas and thoughts and dialog can be explored in truth with little recrimination or prejudice....If that is, you approach life from that direction.

Does it bother you that a man can have a spiritual side? Does it bother you that a man can have empathy? Does it scare you that a leader you might follow harbor these traits?

I am not a male-basher either, but I do question the way power is played in our societies and any Honest Soul can see
the need for BALANCE between the male and female polarities
if we are ever going to achieve PEACE in this world !

It's not even about male or female biology...
it's about ENERGY~
the energy of being receptive, the energy of caring and being humble,
this must be balanced with the drive to thrust outward and make a claim of ownership.....

I hope I'm saying it clearly enough...
I too have been pondering this dilemma,
and our personal relationships with each other are a microcosm of the struggles for equality that are being played out in the macrocosm as well...
