Yes they worked, but; they had free housing, free food, and free medical care, Things that even many modern workers don't have.

Slavery never ended. It was perfected.

Now, instead of getting everything you need provided for you, housing, clothing, food, medical attention, etc.... you are given little pieces of green paper which you trade for the things you need. Fact is: we are all enslaved. 99% of people are simply in denial.

None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free.

The best way to enslave people is to make them think they aren't slaves. Systems of hierarchy make people feel better about their enslavement. If your house and car costs more than the next mans you will believe yourself superior, but in reality you are still a slave.
