Eyewitness: Gingerbread father was "in the hall" of Sandy Hook School when shooting began; then ran away
“So I decided to walk up the hall to actually find out what the noise was because it was continuous,” Midlik said. “It would stop and then it would start. It would stop and start.”

In the hallway she met a father of a student. He was there to help build gingerbread houses. Then an art teacher walked by and recognized the sound.

“She said, ‘Oh my God, guns! I hear shooting.’ And so at that point I looked at the dad and I said, ‘Go back to the classroom and tell the teacher it’s a lockdown, and close the door and keep the kids safe,’ ” Midlik recalled."

Okay. That contradicts Manfredonia's story that he was pulling up to the school.

Midlik says she told him to go help teachers, and close the door and protect the children. Instead he fled the school.

I suspected Manfredonia was significantly involved but this development that his daughter was in Roig's class and he was in the building really ices the cake.

I don't see how this contradicts anything. Does this witness mention Manfredonia by name? Are we assuming that Manfredonia was the only male parent at the school that day making crafts? If so, why?

I'm all for investigating this event but stating supposition as fact helps no one.

Re: Eyewitness: Gingerbread father was "in the hall" of Sandy Hook School when shooting began; then ran away
I purposely did not say it was Manfredonia. This is just an account of a father there to make gingerbreaad houses; it may or may not be Manfredonia.

Here's another account--notice that his father's child comes out of the school within minutes of his arrival, too (someone above mentions the Manfredonia child coming out after 7 minutes):

"Caller ‘Pete’ called into the radio program to respond to the ludicrous conspiracy theories going around the internet suggesting that perhaps this shooting didn’t actually happen. Pete’s child goes to that school and he described the horrific events of that morning from the eyes of a father not being able to protect his son in danger.

Pete’s son was a first grader at Sandy Hook and lost many of his friends in the shooting, and has attended six funerals. Two of the kids killed were part of Pete’s Tiger Den, and he and his son wore their uniforms to the funerals.

When asked about his opinion on the Newtown “truthers”, Pete said the very idea that people would think it was a conspiracy made him feel like throwing up.

“It’s like an unimaginable way to even look at a tragedy or horrific event. I don’t even understand it,” Pete told Glenn.

On the day of the shooting, Pete said he was already on his way to the school to help his son’s class make gingerbread houses for Christmas. On the way, he saw several emergency vehicles pass and assumed it was a random domestic dispute, but as he got closer he realized it was the school. Pete, a Newtown volunteer firefighter, was then dispatched to the scene but not allowed to go in.

“I’m having a hard time even asking you this question,” Glenn said. “What did it feel like as a dad to know that your son was in that building, and you could not go in and grab him?”

“It was extremely hard. I’m fortunate that the fire department is a big family,” Pete said. “One of them, the EMS captain, her mother is the secretary in the office. She’s the one who got the intercom open. And we were both together on the truck and we were consoling each other, and making sure we were able not only get in and do our jobs and but keep each supported to make sure everything was going to be all right.”

“I was fortunate that my son’s class due to his location was about the second class out. I saw him right away within a few minutes of being on scene,” Pete added."

Here are some accounts of Manfredonia specifically:

"Chris Manfredonia, whose 6-year-old daughter attends the school, was heading there Friday morning to help make gingerbread houses with first-graders when he heard popping sounds and smelled sulfur.

He ran around the school trying to reach his daughter and was briefly handcuffed by police. He later found his child, who had been locked in a small room with a teacher.

"The whole reason we moved here a year ago is because when you drive down the subdivision, it's a happy place," said his wife, Georgeann Manfredonia. "There's a ton of children here and the families are very kind and supportive."

"On Friday morning, [Chris Manfredonia], went to help make gingerbread houses in the first-grade class of the couple’s daughter. As he approached the school, he heard popping sounds, then smelled sulfur.
He attempted to reach his daughter by going around the side of the school. Police had arrived by then, stopped him and briefly handcuffed him."

[Said to be from Chicago Trib, but having hard time finding archived version. Above is quoted in several other sites.]

"Much of the "second shooter" speculation was spurred by a man who was detained and released after being spotted in the woods outside the school. Numerous witnesses and TV stations reported seeing a man handcuffed and placed in a police car on Friday morning. After he was interviewed and released, police moved on to other matters, but the record was never fully cleared up and the event got lost in the larger story, leading many to believe the arrest was being actively suppressed. We admit it took a bit of digging to discover that others had figured out that the man in question was most likely Chris Manfredonia, the father of a Sandy Hook student, who attempted to sneak into the school after the shooting started. Police can be heard relaying his name over their radios, but few outlets managed to follow up with that detail."

Re: Eyewitness: Gingerbread father was "in the hall" of Sandy Hook School when shooting began; then ran away
It's hard to understand running around the building, when there's a gaping hole in the front door to run through (as well as a boiler room door which is apparently left unlocked).

I do think it's possible that, whether coming around the building or running out of the building, this individual may have been acting on fear, and is now embarrassed to have been found running away from gunfire. Just a thought. There could have been a LOT more bullets flying, from multiple shooters, than we've been lead to believe.

It's never, ever mentioned, though, that he was running with another man.

NPD said "They're coming at me, down Crestwood!" That's more than one. Why were the men running together (I'll say men, since no report of any women running from the scene has surfaced, and the other guy was likely the one pulled out of the woods).

It's also not true that they "briefly handcuffed him."

You're right, @swansong - I confess that I assumed it was Manfredonia in the story, but wasn't sure enough to put it in the title. I should have made that clear! I guess there could have been a whole bunch of fathers there. All the more ridiculous that one tiny kid overcame the entire school (which I don't believe for a minute). But absolutely, the gingerbread fathers issues needs clarity; are there any other accounts of additional fathers (again, why is it only fathers?)

Because at this point, we have Gingerbreat Hall Father, Gingerbread Pulling-Up Then Fleeing Father, Gingerbread Calling Glen Beck Father, plus Barb Siblely and K Holden...all of these people milling around, magically just before and just after the "shooter" entered the building, and not one of the seeing "the guy."

It all stinks to high heaven.

What, did the guy have an invisibility cloak? Give me a break. That is TOO many coincidences. The school is not that big.

We're to believe that multiple parents wandering the halls heard NO glass breaking. Just some tinfoil noises...actually, they didn't even hear the noises. An EA told them there were tinfoil noises.

Then, Sibley and Holden and Manfredonia, outside, saw no shooters, and heard no shots while the people inside heard tinfoil noises.

During all these noises, the shooter slipped in, unnoticed.

Too much.

What do you mean by "it" AC?

Because something definitely happened. The guy who provides the RadioReference feed for Newtown PD and Fire streamed that audio all day 12/14, just like he does every day, and has (almost) every day since. So cops really were speaking those words over the air. Absolutely it could have been a drill or staged, but it's not simple enough to say "it" didn't happen.

Bob Nute's voice has been on that audio feed every day since (or every day he's on duty, at least). All the cops from that day have also been on the air, as have the EMTs and fire guys. All the same voices.

Just saying that for this to be a hoax or a drill, it involves an entire town putting on a hoax for years leading up to the event, and continuing to live out that lie.

Anything is possible, without question. But the staggering number of people who would have to be bought off makes it a lot easier to imagine an operation with almost no one in the know, and everyone else having plausible deniability. The perfect witnesses--they think it's all real.

The lack of blood at the scene remains, for me, the most impossible thing to explain. But almost everyone in America seems unphased by that. So it is absolutely possible to fake people into thinking the official story is true--it doesn't require hoodwinking an entire town.

I personally think Newtown is a real town, that something weird happened there 12/14, and a few first-responders were bribed/threatened into not saying what they really saw. They saw something--we just don't know what it was. They may not know exactly what it was. Bodies that have obviously been there too long, for example.
