Quoting: Simple_Man If they were going to disobey orders then they wouldn't of detonated it at all it makes no sense whatsoever If true, the fact we detonated anything nuclear will mean huge ramifications. |

Maybe the officers in charge of this were willing to commit career suicide to draw attention to what is going on. |

Quoting: Simple_Man If they were going to disobey orders then they wouldn't of detonated it at all it makes no sense whatsoever Other than the usually forgotten chain of command. If they didnt destroy the bomb, there would've been another waiting so to speak in rank and file that would've and could've followed orders. If true, the released officers are hero's. |

Quoting: Simple_Man If they were going to disobey orders then they wouldn't of detonated it at all it makes no sense whatsoever If this story is true... One way, is setting a locked timer on the nuke. The nuke would have been activated and set for a certain time. They would of had to complete the mission before the timer went off. If someone wanted to play hero, with no way to stop the timer, all one could do is dump the nuke off into the ocean. |

You decline, or refuse....Then what is gained??? They find a guy willing, thirsting for favor and power, he does that job, and probably gets your job as well. Full time. This ensures a repeat attempt will not be made, not soon and not in the same place at least. It brings attention on an international scale, and sends a strong message to the ones giving orders. |

"According to this report, Strategic Missile Forces Command (SMF) notified both President Putin and the General Staff this past Tuesday (8 October) that at 01:58:11 GMT/UTC an atomic device was exploded in the seabed off the US Atlantic Ocean, barely 1,000 km (620 miles) from Charleston, causing a 4.5 magnitude earthquake measurement that SMF experts equate to being a 1-kiloton yield, which is equal to the power of 1,000 tons of TNT."
