Can I join oath keepers even without being military or law enforcement?

UMMM, americans don't call cops "policeman" at this 'juncture' in our history. It ranges from cop through to pig and on down to murdering , godless swine and everytign in between, but not 'policeman'. Nice try though

Ok, so here is how the phone call played out.

He called me while he was doing paperwork for something, he didn't say what and I didn't ask.
I thanked him again for the food and supplies and just asked him if he was trying to tell me something and if so what. He laughed and said “the direct approach huh?” I said “sure, why f*ck around, when a cop you know does something like this it's get you a little edgy. So whats up?

This is a summary of what he told me:

He said that the police have been been getting the same treatment as the civilians. Lots of changes and no real explanations why these changes are being made. He said it started with all of their gear and equipment getting upgraded. The new chargers, MRAPS being handed out at what seems like random, new and better riot gear and more training for how to use it, he said there is dozens of examples and little and big changes going on in all departments state and nation wide.

He said the whole tech being used to record and spy on everyone is even worse for them. They are basically recorded constantly now and many departments require the video headset to be worn at all times so everything they see and say is recorded in real time as they look at it.. A digital monkey looking over their shoulders at all times. The hard drive that records all this is in a locked compartment in their cruiser they cant access.


He said all of this going on and still no explanations, just political BS answers or no answers at all.
Of course the department is wild with speculation, everything from nothing is going on to the sky is falling to just shut up and do your job and wait and see what develops.

The ammo shortage is real but in my state it is not near as bad as others because we have local manufacturers.

He asked if I have been keeping up with the economy, I said “yeah, it's wrecked and the stock market is being propped up with new money and manufactured speculations.” He paused for a good 5 seconds and said “Right....then you know about the default?” I said yes and we talked politics and about the possibility of economic collapse which finally brought us back to the supplies he had given us.

He said something is coming, I don;t know what exactly but the closer we get to this default the more it seems like it is coming to a head on his side. He didn't go into specifics. He said he learned a long time ago what makes good people do bad things , no matter how smart or good natured they are, isn't just drugs and alcohol but hunger . When people don't know where their next meal or their families next meal is coming from that's when they do the most dangerous and stupid things. He just wanted me to have some options if things get rough in the future and he wanted me to know that I had someone I could call if I needed to. He then asked me if I would help him wire some sheds he was going to put up on his property with electricity and tie them into his electrical box outside one of these weekends.

I told him sure, no problem, i'd bring my son with me so the kids could hangout. I asked him if he bought everyone he knows 120 days worth of MRE's and he said. “Only the ones I like and might want a favor from later .”
Then he had to go and he said “i'll see you this weekend or next buddy when we wire them sheds up.”
and hung up his phone.

Thats it. Take from it what you will. He was both straightforward and a little cryptic.
I'm going to play it by ear and accept his gift but not open them on the off chance that he wants something from me that i'm not comfortable with. If he;s on the level then great, sounds like he is an established prepper. I guess the default may be a bigger deal than some of us realized, or he's just another paranoid doomtard.

I don't know yet if I feel better or worse after this conversation.

Remember that as we go into this possible default scenario that IF we default, it was because Obama wanted to default.

EDIT: Or someone else in control wants him to default rather...

There are laws in the constitution protecting us from default. If we default it was against the laws set in place that protect us.

The government has the money coming in to stop us from a default so if we do default it's because the President himself decided to pay something else off before paying what he needed to pay off to stop a default... which like I said.. is against the constitution which we all know Obama has no respect for. If this happens it will be an impeachable offense to add to the growing list.

So a policeman who is the father of my sons best friend just showed up with a couple of buckets of "Wise company ready made meals" and some shtf toiletry kits. He said: "Here you go, I know you're smart guy but just thought you would like to know your not alone if anything crazy ever happens in the near future."

He knows i'm ex-military and a have a lot of knowledge in regards to survival and farming and i'm good in a crisis.

He has been trying to get me to go on ride alongs ever sense.

I dont think he would bullshit me and he regularly uses the term shtf and "DOOM."

Then he stuck his hand out looked up at me and smiled and said "Thanks for always taking good care of my boy when we needed someone we could trust to watch him and for raising a good friend and role model to be his best friend."

Then he grinned and winked and walked back to his cruiser.
