They will be found out very soon. This is why there is currently intense media movement around their 'missing' daughter.

Your an idiot. I hope something like this doesn't happen to you.

The investigation was botched and not handled properly. I agree they were stupid to leave their children unattended but that was their only mistake.

The child was very cute and would be a desired object for some type of creep.

I am hoping and praying that these pictures help solve their problem. If they were guilty, they wouldn't keep this focus as it would be stupid.

Not checking phone records as well as other information is critical.

Its the same foe the girl accused in Italy. These countries are corrupt and unskilled and the legal system
is backward.

Re: The Madeleine McCann Thread
I am not taking sides here, but I have watched the videos of the Portugal investigation and this is my view.

First and foremost I am not an intelligent gifted person like the McCanns, but I would never have drugged my children so they would sleep through the night when I wanted to go on the piss! The McCanns admit giving their children Calpol to sleep through the night, this drug should only be used when a child has a temperature or is sick, the McCanne's being doctors should have known better. I would NEVER leave my children alone in my house or an holiday apartment full stop! A child can choke to death in under 2-minutes!

The dogs brought in from the U.K are highly intelligent when it comes to smelling death of a corpse. Why did the dogs smell the death of a corpse behind the chair in front of the window and in the wardrobe! Why did the dogs find the smell of a corpse inside a car that had been rented some days after the disappearance of the little girl! Why did a key witness notice the tailgate of the rented vehicle left open to air for three days!

All I will say is this.

I think the child died inside the apartment, but it was a tragic accident. The parents would have been prosecuted and their other two children could have been taken in to care.

Their careers as doctors would have been over.

The truth will haunt the McCannes to the grave, I can already see the cracks.

I can't find the piece about the backer pulling out yet, I will keep digging...

In the meantime, here is some light reading:

Madeleine McCann search fund running out of money
The fund raised more than £1.8m from donations and some merchandise sales in the first financial year after Madeleine's disappearance.

The accounts of the fund say the money was spent on searching for Madeleine. None was used to pay the McCann's own legal defence costs. In the first year, £250,000 was spent on "search fees", with £123,573 spent on campaign management and £7,993 on hotels, travel and subsistence, among other costs.

By the end of the financial year – 31 March 2008 – the fund had just over £1m. Over the following year, the 2009 accounts show that donations fell as awareness of the case dipped. As such, the fund spent more in trying to find Madeleine than it received in donations up until 31 March 2009, drawing on its cash reserves.

On 31 March 2009, it had £690,000. But the pattern of dwindling donations continued, as the costs of running the fund and keeping up awareness remained the same, leading to the difficult financial situation the fund is in now.

Today, the fund has less than £300,000 left. They have written an open letter to supporters and celebrities, appealing for help. Mr and Mrs McCann say the money will run out by next spring.

Where the £2m you gave to find Madeleine McCann has gone

The fund set up to help find Madeleine McCann raised almost £2million in the first ten months after she vanished, it was revealed yesterday.

The wave of shock and public sympathy that swept Britain after her suspected abduction led supporters to donate money at a rate of almost £260 an hour.

Accounts lodged with Companies House show the fund received £1.4million in bank donations, another £391,000 over the internet and £64,000 from the sale of T-shirts and wristbands.
In total, it received £1.85million in its first ten months and earned £33,424 in interest. It spent £815,113 on the search for Madeleine in that time.

This included £26,000 to fund the purchase of merchandise and £250,000 on the fees for private investigators.

But the accounts – which have been made public for the first time – have been published with a warning that donations had gone on to fall dramatically and were now ‘significantly lower’ than in the immediate aftermath of the three-yearold’s disappearance in Portugal in 2007.

Row as McCanns use £1million Madeleine fund to pay their mortgage

Kate and Gerry McCann have used the £1million Find Madeleine fund to pay their mortgage, it was revealed yesterday.

Fund organisers refused to say how much had been spent but confirmed that money donated by the public was made available for the family's living expenses.

Neither has worked since Madeleine vanished on May 3, although Mr McCann is due to return to his £75,000-a-year post as a hospital consultant this week.
Mortgage repayments on the couple's £500,000 detached home in Rothley, Leicestershire, are believed to be £2,000 a month.

Madeleine McCann: Tearful mum Kate faces second agonising day at £1million libel trial vowing to 'stop the damage'

An emotional Kate McCann is facing further agony today on the second day of her and husband Gerry's libel action against a former police chief.

The mother of missing Madeleine McCann wept in court yesterday as she came face to face with Goncalo Amaral, who accused the distraught parents of covering up the death of their daughter.

Kate is attending the trial in Lisbon where the family is suing for £1million in damages over his claims that the missing youngster died in their Algarve holiday apartment in 2007.

Speaking last night at the end of the first day, Mrs McCann said she was in Portugal to "stop the damage" she believes is being caused to the search for her daughter by Mr Amaral.

The McCanns have strongly denied the accusations and say the former detective's claims have damaged the hunt for Madeleine and exacerbated the anguish suffered by her relatives.

Speaking to the press yesterday, Mrs McCann said: "I'm here today for Madeleine and obviously I strongly hope for justice.

"I'm here to stop the damage that has been caused and is still being caused, both directly and indirectly, to the search for our daughter."

£3.5m Madeleine McCann fund slammed as PR stunt

DAVID CAMERON'S decision to set aside £3.5million for a review of the Madeleine McCann case has been slammed as a PR stunt.

The Prime Minister has asked the Metropolitan Police to investigate the girl's disappearance on holiday in Portugal four years ago. He was yesterday accused of undermining the force's independence and wasting their resources.

Metropolitan Police Authority member Lord Harris said: "It embroils their officers in a highprofile investigation, where the chances of success are unclear."

Cameron and the Home Office intervened after Madeleine's parents Kate and Gerry, of Rothley, Leicestershire, made a plea on her eighth birthday.

The money will fund a team to carry out a review of the inquiry and will cover the cost of flights to Portugal, hotels, forensic fees, translation and any other expenses. Downing Street denied interfering in police matters and the Met insisted they agreed to take part.

But Lib Dem peer Lord Bradshaw branded the PM's intervention as a "PR exercise".

Gerry's blog does not relate in anyway to what was actually happening.

What Happened - August 8 Kate & Gerry McCann interrogated, accused by police of lying and covering up their actions with regard to the child. Suggestions they could face a murder charge. Both of them in hysterics.

Gerry's Reaction on his blog - August 8 Kate’s parents left early this morning…At our meeting with the Portuguese police today we reaffirmed that we have to believe Madeleine is alive until there is concrete evidence to the contrary. It is this belief that has driven everything we have done in relation to publicising Madeleine's disappearance over the last 3 months.

Home Office to fund new Met operation into Madeleine McCann disappearance

Home Secretary Theresa May has agreed to fund an operation by Metropolitan Police to continue the search for Madeleine McCann.

Madeleine, from Leicestershire, disappeared during a family holiday with her parents in Praia da Luz in 2007, nine days before her fourth birthday.

Scotland Yard could not comment directly on this new development, but did say: “We are reviewing a significant number of documents and continue to identify potential lines of inquiry.

“We are in regular contact with [her parents] Kate and Gerry McCann and they are kept fully updated on the progress of our work. We also continue to work closely with the Portuguese police and are actively considering our next steps.”
