I can understand that liberal commies, who love big government, and are spending freaks who think that the government can spend as much money as it want, want to raise the debt ceiling.


But I can't believe people here on GLP also want to raise the debt ceiling.

Simple fix. Make the rich pay their taxes instead of giving them infinite loopholes and workarounds.

If the government actually collected the same tax percent form the politicians that they do from the working class...we wouldn't be in this situation.

There is a problem when a single mom pays in 15k, and a career politician makes millions a year and pays zero in.

I do agree that there is too much money being spent on unnecessary things (such as TSA and DHS over reach). However if they would force EVERYONE to pay the taxes they force on the working class, they could afford to spend the money on these bullshit programs.

Look at it this way. Romney brought is 13.5 mil in 2012 - he paid 14% income tax which is just under 2 mil. IF he had paid the same 30% the working class pays, that would be 4 mil. Multiply that by the 500 assholes on capitol hill, I think we would make an effective dent in things.

This morning on my local TV news, one of the anchors held up a dollar bill and began to explain its value. The guy emphatically argued that raising the debt limit would instill confidence in other countries and investors in the dollar. He compounded that lunacy by insisting that not raising the debt limit meant not paying our bills and thus would lead to a reduced confidence in and devaluation of the dollar.

I was so pissed I whipped out the laptop to email the station before I went to work. Only in America could begging for a higher credit limit when you can’t pay what you owe in the first place equate to more trust. For every other person on the planet, the way to encourage trust is to pay your bills and not need a higher credit limit to float a loan you can’t pay.
