It has always been $800 a day and about 30 minutes ago I tried to withdraw $800 and it wouldn't let me. So i tried $700 then $600 and still nothing. $500 worked though. Anyone else try this and have the same problem? Quoting: Whole lee shit Same, but not in the last week or so... I ended up doing $600 and $200 in different transactions. And then they froze me for "suspicious transactions" |

After reading a few posts I went to my local chase bank and tried to get to my savings account. I have done this several hundred times in the past. Guess what........won't even allow me to get to it. only my checking. Went inside to ask why......they simply said it was a new policy to their atm machines. WTF??????? Shit's getting real! Anything over 9999.00 is reportable to IRS so I took it out in 8k increments. Didn't get any pushback. Although they were "discussing" it with managers. So who knows what was being said. They make you feel like a criminal for wanting your money. Just a heads up... They were discussing you "structuring your deposits" to avoid filling out the CTR. That is a red flag, and they are told to report that activity as "suspicious". Just deposit/withdraw the whole amt., it's the best choice. Hope this helps. |

And...as the fema guy said...'don't protest' 'don't do it, man' (DHS will be waiting for you) |

If less than that inguire what amount they have on hand and withdraw that and they should do that as you are presently there and then ask for next location of this bank and go there to withdraw more. They really keep very little cash anymore. |

I was very annoyed when I bought just over $600 at the lumber supply and my debit wouldnt clear for it.Called them and they said limits were $500 daily now but they would set it so that this one single transaction would go through. Its not a good feeling when you cant access your own money. |

Getting smaller amounts makes it appear you are trying to hide something and you will be reported. The teller is required to ask why you need a large amount and yes she does have to put it on the forum. So decide what you will say before you get there. |
Buck Zander User ID: 47130945 Canada 10/16/2013 04:54 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I posted this at 2:35 this morning, long before the chase/bofa/atm threads showed up: I reported a few months ago that daily/weekly cash withdrawal limits were being slashed here; a few weeks ago another Canadian GLP'er posted same. Looks like clawback round two just started. Weekly (poss. daily too) cash withdrawal limits being slashed again. Spent a couple of hours sorting stuff out with bank yesterday, didn't want to post anything yet. Now I see this, makes perfect sense. I keep saying... Canada, you're in for one hell of an awakening. They can cash the checks and give the money back to you. I cashed a $4000 check today. There's now way I would put anything in the bank right now. My bank is a little independent bank. Is that better than banking at Chase or BB&T in a situation like this? SoPrettie1 "Creativity is wondering in wonder." *Me* "Synchronicity is the operating system of the universe." *Me* |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 46159180 They asked you what you needed it for?? What's a teller need to know for? That's my point exactly. Wtf? When I reported on the first round of daily/weekly cash withdrawal limits at Can. banks here a few months ago, I had a similar experience. Went in to withdraw 8K, which I had routinely done (similar or greater sums) week in and week out for years. My money flows in and out through business cheques, credit AND cash. Nature of the business. When I tried to withdraw that 8K that time, the teller, matter of factly, informed me that anything over 2K needs a prior arrangement. Long story short, after a closed door meeting with the manager, I left with what I came for and made sure notes were made for future reference. Fast forward to yesterday and it's like deja vu, all over again. Shit's going down. This whole shutdown circus was one huge distraction.
