Re: GUYS, is there a REALISTIC chance that the HOUSE WON'T PASS the deal today?
So will they implement Obamacare or just raise the debt ceiling?
 Quoting: M.UFO

No deal if it implements Obamacare. There will be no battle to fight if it gets going. The economy is going to get far worse as people lose what little disposable income they had left to insurance costs. Obama is holding the whole thing hostage by thinking he is empoeror and insisting on getting everything he wants. I wonder if the GOP will even get a token tax cut that will probably never actually be implemented like they always get.

Just called my House rep again. He's a pretty solid Tea Party type conservative. I advised him to vote no and I expect that he will be a no vote. I also advised him to remove Boehner as speaker... again.

Lastly, I recommended that if the house votes to approve this, he should run as a libertarian next time because the last time the Tea Party was this pissed at the house 65 reps lost their seats in 2010. Boehner, McConnell, and others like them are ensuring the collapse of the GOP.

So IF it does not clearly states that Obamacare is not to be implemented the bill will not pass?

Coz if they pass a "gentleman's agrement" you just vote to raise the ceiling and we will kill the care...

Agreed. They keep on making one mistake after another. It is laughable. It makes the Democrats look brilliant even with the debacle of Obamacare.

Landslide Democrat victories in 2014 and 2016 for them, and you can thank the tea party and the Rhino Republicans for that.

Obamacare is currently implemented and their will be no opposition to that. The debt ceiling will also raise.

Obama and his minions won.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1445528

They won, but have been revealed now as tyrannical assholes that compromise less than the Nazis did. The extremist Democrat party has been exposed and We the Sheeple now know that. Just kidding, the useful idiots love Obama and the Democrat Satan worshipers.
 Quoting: The Right Policy

The normal legislative process for enacting law is to start a bill in the house, and if it obtains a majority vote on the house floor it is then sent to the senate. The senate then votes and passes the bill, or amends it and sends it back to the house. The house then does the same, and this back and forth continues until a majority in both houses can agree to a unified version of the bill. It is then sent to the president so he can sign or veto it. Once signed it becomes law.

In order to repeal a law, new legislation must be crafted which states that the original law is no longer valid, and it must follow the same process. The house has attempted to repeal the law over 40 times. It's basically all the house does at this point in history. However, they continually fail at repealing the law through the standard legislative process.

Since the house is unable to repeal the law through the legislative process, they decided to defund the entire government to try to stop this law from being enacted. This is entirely outside the normal legislative process. The democrats wouldn't negotiate due to this fact. What's more is that the law has actually survived a challenge through the court system, which gives it further credibility.

So, please, enlighten me as to how the Democrats are acting as the tyrannical ones here? If any one is abusing the political process in this situation it is Republicans.

So in essence this was done to turn the public's eye from some other political situation(perhaps Syria, Iran, or something we are not even aware of yet).
 Quoting: M.UFO

It is worth noting that we haven't heard one word about Syria in almost a month and they didn't stop slaughtering each other just because we are fighting amongs ourselves.

Tyrannical?

Let me see....

Obambacare passed in the middle of the night with no one given time to read it.

Passed along pure party lines.

You have to wait ill it's passed to see what's in it.

And you don't define THAT as tyranny?

Fucking ass wipe.

It's not at all abnormal for legislation to pass along pure party lines. Obamacare was debated for almost three years. The plan in place is based on one designed by the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank, as an alternative to the universal system being pushed during the Clinton administration. The same plan is enacted in Massachusetts. It's not like this is some secretive plan, it's been out there for a few decades now. The details are well known.

I wouldn't call this tyrannical at all. Undesirable, sure, but tyrannical, no.

Re: GUYS, is there a REALISTIC chance that the HOUSE WON'T PASS the deal today?
It will pass. Paul, Lee & Cruz already said they won't fight it.

That's the senate ...the house will be the last stand. Word is the house Tea Party will vote no but enough Dems will vote yes to make it pass
