The Banks and Corporations Distributing EBT Funds.

According to the website of the Agriculture Department—which oversees the food stamp program—three companies administer the bulk of EBT card programs in 49 states (the state of Montana runs its own program) through multi-year contracts ranging from five to seven years. JP Morgan Electronic Financial Services, Inc. (a subsidiary of JP Morgan Chase), which entered the welfare market in 2004 by acquiring Citicorp Electronic Financial Services, has contracts with 24 states and two U.S. territories. Affiliated Computer Services (ACS), a subsidiary of Xerox, has 15 state contracts. And eFunds Corporation, a subsidiary of Fidelity National Information Services (not connected to Fidelity Investments), handles the EBT cards for 10 states and one U.S. territory.

RE:In Texas:
My cousin just renewed his food stamps through April.
Letter came yesterday...his family's total amount DID drop from 375 dollars a month to 133 without any income/expense changes, though.

He called me this morning to have someone to rant to...LOL

I'm curious if that 65% drop is because the gov is no longer sponsoring their portion of the benefits? I.e. the state sponsors 35% and the fed sponsors 65%.

I Wonder if the portions/Ratio is the same for every State.
Also If the Base Funds that Run the Program/Operation are cut is the Program still going to Function? Since they have Two major Corporations managing the Distribution of the Funds, and in the last 2 to 3 Months both systems have had "outages" in their EBT Card systems. This looks like a test for a more permanent outage.

This was one of my points when the 'system' went down. The program is being run by several different sources, so, how could they all go down at the same time?
