A thought for the day or times. Why is it that devout Muslims do not drink and are not allowed to drink, readily sell liquor to the visitors of their resort countries like Dubai? And why are they not allowed to drink when their predecessors during the Crusades where?

I don't know much about the Templar's.
However,

Templars started in Jerusalem under my Great-Grandfather.
He was French, but became King of Jerusalem after Baldwin, who had no heirs and my GG married Baldwins daughter.

Fulk of Anjou (my 24thGG) subsidized the Knights Templar (which they were known by AFTER arriving in Jerusalem) and maintained 2 of the original 9 upon their return to France.

The Knights Templar were the keepers of the knowledge of Atlantis. I think they rose to power because of this. They actually persued this knowledge and the artifacts when most others of their day would just catalog it away or rever it as an ancient relic. Too bad really since they have long faded into history, or did they just fade into the background?

Not trying to start a war over this with other self-described "templars", but that is my opinion.

If they want to call themselves templar knights and charge people money for t-shirts and teddy bears, by all means, there are plenty of "sheep-lars" out there.

So has anyone noticed how much the Templars are in the news now and even a TV show with a self professed "Templar" as the host? The show is Legend Quest if anyone wants to watch it.

The original 9 Knights Templar camped out on the ruins of Solomon's Temple (Zerubbabel's Temple, Herod I's Temple) for 9 years 1119-1128 and excavated there. They also found the Jesus Family Tomb in East Talpoit between Bethlehem & Jerusalem. Look on Wikipedia 'Rosslyn Chapel' page 5 of 8, under "Templar and Masonic connections" and one sees the St. Clairs testified AGAINST the Knights Templar in the trials in Edinbourgh in 1309. Original Templars were from the Champagne region of France, however they were formed in a monastary is Seborga, Italy. This was run by Bernard (St. Berbard) Clairvaux a Cistercian monk, who was the nephew of Andrew Montbard, one of the original 9 Templars.
