Knights Templar's
If you where invited to join the Knights Templar organization, that has no affiliation with the Masons would you do so?

Why Switzerland?

Surely they emanated from England?

Maybe they just emigrated to Switzerland!

Re: Knights Templar's
A guy named Mark Amaru Pinkham started a group in the USA. He's written some excellent fascinating books. His group is more about the spirituality of being a templar. The living it/being it. Not just saying it.

Try googling his name if you're interested.

If you research the Knights Templar's you will find that the ones that survived the inquest ended up in Switzerland and helped form the country itself and the banking system.

A lot more history out there than ever got put in a book.

How true, but truthful historical information can still be gleaned from research into specific subjects tempered by outside historical information that references the subject you are researching.

HammerFall: Templars of Steel

The hands of time have brought you here
to make a change, to break down the walls
You are the ones and you are the only
trying to live by your own goals

And you all cry for freedom
Raise your fists to the sky

Let your voice speak for the revolution
All join forces with all the powers that you feel
Let your heart beat for the revolution
Led by the Templars of Steel

Let´s spread the word of the sole survivors
with metal pounding inside their souls
The fire burns, and it will forever
blaze for the ones who stands strong

And you all cry for freedom
with your fists in the sky

Let your voice speak for the revolution
All join forces with all the powers that you feel
Let your heart beat for the revolution
Led by the Templars of Steel
You are the Templars of Steel

Oh, oh, oh ...

Let your voice speak for the revolution
All join forces with all the powers that you feel
Let your heart beat for the revolution
Led by the Templars of Steel

Let your voice speak for the revolution
All join forces with all the powers that you feel
Let your heart beat for the revolution
Led by the Templars of Steel
You are the Templars of Steel

Re: Knights Templar's
I remember those days. Pope Clement played a double game of sympathy to King (pretty boy) Philip, and at the same time warned the templars. I fled the monastery in Paris for Scotland along with many others. In Scotland we earned our keep by fighting with the Bruce against the English in the Battle of Bannock Burn. We had enough gear to dress up a huge detachment, so as an apprentice I got the chance to put on the whole armor of a knight. Many others did also, but the real knights were at the head of three columns that approached the battlefield from different directions in the foggy morning. The English just saw us, with more and more appearing, deliberate and slow, completely unconcerned with what they thought. A knight from the English charged and one of ours killed him with one blow. The English were so scared they turned and ran, leaving everything on the battlefield. Very quick battle.

I have read Pinkham's books. Some is true, some is fanciful. He puts in everything but the kitchen sink. Fun to read though. Again... part of his writing is correct.

Yes they did the original 9 Templar's where from France but remember later on the King of France and the Pope decided to piss on them for their own gain

If Mason's and Templars are not affiliated - can one be both a Freemason AND a Knights Templar?

The Knight Templar's are affiliated with the Freemasons in the York Rite branch as Knight Templar's. All other affiliations are purely speculation.

The two Knight Templar organizations located in the UK and Switzerland are Knight Templar organizations of their own standing with no known affiliation with the Knight Templar's of the Masons York Rites. According to the historian I have been in contact with.
