Rather than an example of a typical mosque it is a reflection of its historical context. [link to www.suite101.com] Not a Mosque hee hee Hey, this stuff could cause A War. |
Highlander, unlogged User ID: 100661 United States 07/28/2006 01:47 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Not a Mosque. Quoting: Zadok 25003Zadok, one interesting item is this statement from the web site you referenced, Another claim, made by the Palestinian Authority mufti for Jerusalem, Ikrama Sabri, is that the Temple has been built three times, and that Herod built the third construction. Following this line of logic, the Third Temple has already been destroyed, and therefore the Jewish traditions regarding its future reconstruction are groundless. According to another Muslim version, which has found favor in the past few years, the Temple of the Jews was in Yemen, of all places. What makes it interesting is that the Temple of Solomon is also supposed to have been built in Egypt, so now we have Israel, Jordan and Egypt all vying for the rightful location of the Temple of Solomon, who is going to be proven right and what will the consequences be? |

Another theory is that the temple is to be re-built inside of you. Another Muslim theory is what it says most theories are self serving. and theories It may even be the United States. It has never been there but it is where the junk is. see if this makes it. by the way i often think of what i want to say then google it and provide some link usually don't read all the link and on the subject of the temple deal it goes from all good to all evil and all points in between hey stay tuned see what happens |
Zadok User ID: 121553 United States 07/29/2006 04:44 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | There are several buildings the Dome of the Rock is said to have borrowed from but the one bearing the most visual similarity is the nearby Holy Sepulcher (335 C.E.). These similarities are the use of a dome and rotunda, concentric aisles in which there is a central ring of supports for the dome with an ambulatory around it and an outer wall around that. Also the Holy Sepulcher originally received its light from windows in the drum which supports the dome, similar to the 16 windows of the Dome of the Rock in the same location. Besides these similarities to the Holy Sepulcher certain features of the Dome of the Rock can be found in other churches. The doorways at the Cathedral of Bosra(515-13) and St. George at Ezra(515-16) use plain masonry which makes them look identical to the Dome of the Rock's. The structure of the dome is said to be most similar to the one believed to exist in the Church of St. Simeon Stylites(~500) in Iraq. This church also has a frieze in the apse which bares similarity to those decorating the cornices of the Dome of the Rock's piers and interior of the drum. The use of mosaics on the exterior of the Dome of the Rock is also not original, St. Peters old Basilica in Rome(450 C.E.) used mosaics to decorate the exterior of the facade. [link to www.suite101.com] Wow, I should read my own links. Anyway this makes more sense. on the DOR. Church of the Holy Sepulcher getting taken was what started the crusades. |

According to the Gospel of Luke and the Gospel of Matthew, Herod the Great was alive when Jesus was born. Most historians fix Herod's death in the year 4 BC. Claycat User ID: 125566 United States 08/02/2006 01:07 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Highlander, I believe I was a Knight Templar in a past life. I went to a psychologist who did past life regressions. When she hypnotized me, the strongest life that came through was a life in which I was a Scottish soldier, last name Sinclair, who died in battle. I was knocked backwards off my horse and I died of a broken neck. Oddly, I have a protruding vertebrae at the base of my neck. I remember my uniform. It was a British uniform, but I was carrying a sword with a curved blade rather than straight. It was more of a scimitar. One of the reasons I did this was because of my extreme anger. I thought it would help. Unfortunately, this seemed to bring through more anger. "There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy." William Shakespeare |
