It is time to fish or cut bait. I think the new party (I don't give a fuck what they name it) could sweep in and take a majority by 2016!

I don't think they can anymore because both the republicans and democrats created law allowing only the two parties to be considered. I may be wrong but am almost positive I read that. You US folks who know the recent changes could answer it. That is how they eliminated Ron Paul from the game as they knew he would eventually destroy both groups.

NO, it's not time for the Tea Party to break with Republicans.

If that happens, the Democrats will be guaranteed the White House for the rest of our lifetimes.

Tea Party is not a large enough group to win anything let alone the presidency.

Two reasons:

1) The numbers. They are too small a group to make any difference. Spilting they become totally irrelevant.

2) They are political neophites with no clue how to work WITH people. They sound shrill and demanding. They have no sense that America, like it or not, has a SPECTRUM of political opinion. They are too demanding that it's "their way or the highway." No respect for anyone else that generally thinks like them but is a little more moderate.

The ONLY chance they have is to become more active in the Republican party and actually work WITH Republicans, many of whom AGREE with the TP people but frankly, the Republican party members are a little pissed at the newcomers who won't share in any of the work, expect to have THEIR people elected and really know NOTHING about how campaigns work. They seem to prefer to see NO ONE elected if it's not their extreme candidate.

Maybe if these tea party people who sat on their butts until recently would do well to actually come alongside those that have been TRYING to make a positive difference. They need to stop treating other republicans as the enemy or they will cause nothing but victory for the democrats.

btw, I personally agree with most of the TP positions but I abhor the tone and the scorched earth tactics.

Re: It is Time for the Tea Party to Break From the Republicans.
With as low as voter turnout has become, most people just not giving a shit, and dumbing down of America, most people are too programmed into the 2-party system we have now to even pay attention to a 3rd, even though the libertarian movement represents much more of what the founders intended for this country and would mean more freedom for EVERYONE.

This is why they only garnish 5% of the vote in a given election.

It's not like when the Whigs broke off, dismantled and became the Republican party...These are different times.

The Tea Party/Libertarian influences need to keep infiltrating the republican party, change it from the inside out. No name change needed really.

I would support term limits but there is no chance of getting those who are corrupt to limit their corruptness…that said we have term limits it is called our vote…voting them out is defacto term limits…and I oppose third party…we do not need a third party…we need to stop supporting and rewarding failed politicians with reelection…a third party would very quickly become as corrupt as the two major parties we have now…

we do not need a third party…a third party will literally overnight become as corrupt as the two we have now…we need responsible voters who stop buying the crap politicians are pushing…

A lot of free thinking people don't vote because:

1. They will be overwhelmed by illegal voters.
2. They have to give their personal information to get on the voter rolls, and that's mostly public. The parties can get lots of info on them including their home addresses.
3. They will be signed up for jury duty. This would not be bad but for the extremely invasive questions asked both on the jury form and at the jury selection.
4. Voting doesn't mean much if you're one against 100 million.

Re: It is Time for the Tea Party to Break From the Republicans.
The Tea Party was hijacked out of the gate into a GOP get out the vote campaign.

Let's get one thing straight, the tea party is not a tea party.

It is a pathetic whimpering shell of what the real tea party was.

The first tea party was a tax revolt.
They took part in the destruction of government property.
They stopped paying taxes
They took up guns and started blowing the heads off of Tyrannical Government in flat out warfare.
The consequences of their actions would have meant that they would be quartered, hung, that is if they even received a trial at all in the first place.
They had no coach to return to, no way to take it back, and no way to undo what they did. It was freedom, or death.
Or Liberty or Death, as they put it so politely.

They were not a bunch of old people waiving yellow flags at their local park outside of their public facilities, demanding that everything that had been promised to them by the government would continue. Social Security, Medicare, welfare, food stamps, unemployment, etc. etc.

They were the solution, they were not looking for the government to become the solution.

It is as different as Iceland, and Greece.
Icelandic people wanted freedom above all else.
Greece wanted their government candy to continue, so they could keep the party going.

Big, big big difference.

The Tea Party was not looking to reform King George. The Tea part was looking to exile King George, and create their own government.

So, the Tea Party was a nifty idea, but it was hijacked, defanged, and whenever asked the people involved said they didn't want their government entitlements to change, which meant the government that had become tyrannical remained.

Anyone who is against it, call them "slavers"

In 1912 there was No federal Income tax, No national Debt, and no Federal REserve Bank, now we are all nothing more than taxed slaves.

They don't want people to have cures, they want the path to health guarded by pharmacists, doctors, and government insurance, with the threat of prison for anyone curing others, they are "slavers"

They want bailouts for the banks, they allowed fraudclosure, they are "slavers"

They want you paying for energy for the rest of your life, they do not want an alternative source of energy, they are "slavers"

They are in Washington again, holding another slave auction, selling us all into further servitude to pay for their spending. They are "slavers".

Because the "Tea Party" is essentially filled to the brim with Libertarians.

Ron Paul started the Tea Party movement.

He only ran as a Republican because he knows the game.

Hell, he DID run for President as a Libertarian before quite a few of you were even born.

The Libertarian Party is the next major political party for the United States.

Anyone who is conservative who feels disenfranchised by the status-quo Republicans should switch to being a Libertarian.

Honestly, I do not see how any intelligent person, given all the facts, could support either the Democrats or the Republicans.

The Libertartian Party is the only party that makes sense and the only party with REAL ideas for REAL change.
