Good morning all! It's already flipping 72 degrees at 9:30 o'clock. Today is a total free day for me. I might go get some food for lunch. Maybe Subway. I know, I know, but I like the Spicy Italian BMT. I also need a vodka run.

Oh you women. I vap as well. I just have the basic VapPuro setup in black. But I still grab a blu now and then. I don't like taking my VapPuro set up when I'm out with friends at bars. I'd hate to leave that behind or drop and bust it. I haven't tried all the candy or fruit flavors. I just stick with the Wintergreen or Ice, kinda flavors. I vap other stuff too :)

Lightning Strikes: Myth vs. Fact

News and images of several lightning strikes have been buzzing across the Web during the past couple of weeks. But despite the recent high-profile cases, lightning-related deaths are actually at an all-time low.

There have been eight lightning-related deaths in July, but the fatality rate, said Jensenius, has steadily declined during the past 30 years. Last year, there were only 23 deaths in the United States, which is an all-time low. “I think during the past 10 or 15 years, making people more aware of the dangers has definitely played a role in lowering the fatality rate,” said Jensenius.

"When thunder roars, head indoors" is an oft-repeated tip by Jensenius and his colleagues. "Anytime you’re outside, you’re at risk," he said. And leisure activities, such as fishing, swimming, or playing outdoor sports, account for 62 percent of lightning deaths annually. (Of all leisure activities, fishing tops the list.) To keep the awareness train rolling, we asked Jensenius and the National Weather Service to help us debunk some of the most popular lightning myths.

Most definitely more awareness/respect for lightning imo.

Once momma bears get wind of turn around, don't drown or when thunder roars, go indoors...it's a good thing for the family...unless of course there's a shoe sale somewhere and she's the only one in the car...lol..jk!

Saw a guy interviewed yesterday from Venice Beach. He said the lightning bolt came out of nowhere with a HUGE thunderclap like he never heard before and he was from the Midwest!!?? You all prolly already got video and text of that here.

He said all the moms on the beach ran for their kids like a scene in Jaws.

Same day that a town north of Boston had it's first ever tornado....yikesy

Who knows what's going on? We can't even come to a concensus on global cooling/warming, but imo, it could just be nasty space weather permeating a weakened magnetic field... who knows? Many scenarios for sure!!

But any lightning over LA's beaches is rare so...wtf??
