Oh snap. Cali getting shaken up. I had a bad feeling after the first quake today..

I just spent $700 on a new phone and came close to breaking it. Stupid Samsung forgot to include the getting started guide with it and couldn't find anything on their website either.

Apparently this was an alert from a 1925 earthquake. Kinda weird..

Bakersfield Attorney Benjamin Greene dies after 5k run at Hart Park
Weather was 105°F-110°F

Greene was also a deputy public defender for Kern County and had been practicing law in Bakersfield for upwards of 10 years.
The Kern County Coroner said that 48-year-old Greene started experiencing complications while running the 5k at Hart Park. Youngblood said that he became unresponsive and started to receive medical aid.

I feel your pain. I got home from work a little while ago, sobbed for a few, then went to sit outside for a minute to water my plans and try to relax. As I was sitting there I was thinking about how I can't deny anymore that I'm on the edge of losing it. My work situation has been bad for some time and I can't seem to escape it. Yet, the toll it's taking on me can no longer be ignored. I don't know what to do other than what I've already been doing to cope, yet it's clear to me that's starting to not be enough.

Point being, I'm where you are, even if it's probably for totally different reasons. At least know you're not alone.

I wish it was that simple. Pun intended lol. I'm in quite the pickle. It would be too personal to explain openly in the thread, but the reality is that I am trapped. I am owned. Unless I want to become unemployed, which is just not an option financially. There's a lot of factors involved with my employment. And because of those, also my potential future employment elsewhere, if I were to stay in the industry I'm currently in. That I have been in for, I think, about 12-ish years (maybe more) now. I would want to stay in the field I am in. Possibly doing something different within it, or not.

If I quit, the company I work for would literally be f*cked. That is not tooting my own horn, exaggerating, etc. That is a fact. And the owner of the company would make sure that I couldn't get a job anywhere locally within the industry. He has that power. It wouldn't surprise me if he utilized it. I've seen him do some dirty things to people. I have no respect for him, but I have bills to pay. And a teenager to raise.

I am owned.

I bounced down half the flight of steps but recovered standing up somehow.
