1 Corinthians 8:4-6
“There is no God but one.” For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as indeed there are many “gods” and many “lords”), yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.
God was trying to warn us. Trying to train us for war. You do know sin is weakness in this war?
Psalm 144:1-3 - Praise be to the Lord my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle. He is my loving God and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer, my shield, in whom I take refuge, who subdues peoples under me. Lord, what are human beings that you care for them, mere mortals that you think of them? - 2 Corinthians 10:1-6
2 Timothy 2:3
Endure suffering along with me, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus.
Isaiah 42:9 - Behold, the former things have come to pass, And new things I declare; Before they spring forth I tell you of them.”
John 13:19 - Now I tell you before it come, that, when it is come to pass, ye may believe that I am he.
Deuteronomy 10:17 - The Lord your God is supreme over all gods and over all powers. He is great and mighty, and he is to be obeyed. He does not show partiality, and he does not accept bribes.
