Woman died after being refused smear test for being too young
A 26-year-old woman died from cervical cancer after her requests to have a smear test, which could have detected the disease in time, were dismissed by her GP because she was under the screening age limit.

Horrible my aunt died of that kind of cancer it is very very painful and spreads so quickly. They would do a surgery to get some tumors out and the next week they would be back it was medically unreal how fast the cancer was spreading. She only lived two weeks from her diagnosis.

I'm so sorry about your aunt. Cancer is a bitch of a disease. May she rest in peace.

As far as the poor woman who was too young to have the test- something similar happened to a friend's daughter. She was 23 years old and had colon cancer. If only they had done the colonoscopy sooner, they wouldn't be missing their daughter for 11 years now.

It really sucks when they won't do a test because the insurance says "you're too young to have this disease". Perhaps a few lawsuits ought to be handed out to these companies for playing God........

In this country, at least up until obamacare if your doctor orders a smear you get it, no ifs, ands, or buts. There is no age limit...

Well I guess we have now joined the "civilized world" where a government bureaucrat will make arbitrary decisions about our health...oh joy...
"Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them."

"Have you ever wondered why, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, we have deficits?"

"Have you ever wondered why, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, we have inflation and high taxes?" -- Charlie Reese

The above is from a column written by Charlie Reese in 1984. 32 years ago and it still applies to our situation today?

Government and politicians are the problem and always have been.
