Go on holiday or stay home?? In Cornwall England awaiting the storm...advice??
supposed to set off tomorrow morning by train from penzance to barnstaple with my kids. then bus to woolacombe bay.

what do i do??

i dont want to get stuck somewhere on a train due to flooded lines...is that likely?

is it better to stay home or should we just go? hotels all booked for a great week away...

i want to be cautious but dont want to be a worry wart.

could use advice please!

I was down Penzance when the storms were lashing the area a few years ago. I was working down there and I got stuck for a few days because of the storms. It was great fun. I love me a good storm.

Shelter in place.

from UK MET

A very intense low pressure system is forecast to run northeastwards across the country early on Monday, bringing the potential for an exceptionally windy spell for southern parts of the UK. At the same time, persistent, heavy rain could cause some surface water flooding, while the winds will lead to some very large waves around our coasts.

There remains some uncertainty in the timing, intensity and track of the low. However, the public should be prepared for the risk of falling trees as well as damage to buildings and other structures, bringing disruption to transport and power supplies.

The public is advised to take extra care, further information and advice can be found here: [link to www.metoffice.gov.uk]

I would ring the hotel. I love Cornwall go there every year. Have a great time if you go. The big sheep is good. Plus Atlantic village for shopping.

Re: Go on holiday or stay home?? In Cornwall England awaiting the storm...advice??
anyone know if the trains or buses would be running if it got bad?

and can someone lay out for me how the travel day could potentially go if it was to be very bad?

getting more and more worried and pretty sure we won't go unless we wake up to calm and clear skies...

Holiday means a week or two not a day. Bollocks is slang for a man's testicles.
