The first thought that comes to my mind when someone tells me "did you realize that's an anagram for [whatever]" is that some people either have entirely too much time on their hands, or that some people are semi-dyslexic and words just anagram themselves for them. I can play the anagram game if I have to, but I have to concentrate. It's certainly not automatic for me.

And I suppose some of us have heard the one about

Ronald Wilson Reagan

being an anagram for

Insane Anglo Warlord

Back when I heard about that one, I wasn't especially a member of the Reagan Youth. I wasn't vociferously oppositional, but I held a cynical view of things. I was the right age, so being cynical was part of my mission in life at the time. Not sure I've changed all that much in that respect.

Looking back, though, I'm thinking that Reagan's time at the helm was among the least warlord-y we've had in recent years. He talked a good line about his Strategic Defense Initiative (and he talked good lines in general), and SDI (arguably) played a role in changing the USSR into Russia and the independent republics. For sure Reagan's bellicosities couldn't hold a candle to what we've more recently come to know.

Reagan took office 33½ years ago. That's a third of a century. I don't know that I'd be a super-big Reagan supporter if he were in office now, since I'm just so naturally dissident. But even if I didn't swoon over his every word, I do think I'd concede that damn, he's pretty good at this.

Having said all that, and reiterating that I'm disinclined to be supportive of things that are popular, I now learn that B.H. Zero's name (together with his current "job description") can be reworked to reveal that he's an Arab-backed imposter.

And I don't doubt this one bit.
