I work in a sex offender treatment program. I believe that pedophilia is already registered when they complete the sex offender registry.

I read the article and I do not agree with the idea that pedophiles should be allowed to fantasize about sexual encounters with children to help them. That would be detrimental and would open the door for reoffending, in my opinion.

We work with individuals on being able to establish appropriate fantasies and combat the thought process that incited their prison and treatment sentence. After the multiple levels of treatment programs, the offender must enroll in an outpatient program where they continue to work on issues they come by while in society.

Yeah- their sorry azzes need to be orientated with a firing squad.

I'm not sure about this. It's not a disorder as long as it's not acted on. Consider the preference for child brides in some parts of the world, and historically. It's hard to say this preference alone is a disorder when, historically, it is normal.

But people with this preference have to refrain from acting. They might want help in refraining.

It's hard to stop them from gathering, because we allow freedom of association in our country. Saying a preference is a crime (hence that such gatherings are evidence of criminal conspiracy) is establishing a thought crime.

I am not in favor of saying AHYTHING is a thought crime.

You can't tell people they cannot think about sex with children. But I am in favor of anything that helps establish credible evidence that an adult did have sex with a child, and harsh punishment.
