Being the very organization in which was created to thwart the Protestant Reformation - which, by the way, is celebrated on October 31st - it comes to no surprise when he makes statements opposed to Christian fundamentalism. Furthermore, it's rather telling that the spirit of ecumenicalism is fraudulent when the offer of unity is not extended to a certain sect of Christianity, i.e., Reformed and Evangelical Christian denominations.
Quoting: Sitting Duck He is making statements in total contradiction to the Bible as a whole, and particularly to the 10 Commandments, the basis of the Judeo-Christian beliefs. Quoting: tiger1 ^^THIS^^ Just keep our eyes and ears out for whatever else he says. Majority of the world looks to him for guidance. Quoting: Indysmindy A lot of Catholics are opening their eyes and ears. Conservative Catholics are appalled by what this pope is doing. Quoting: tiger1 Matthew 7:15-20 King James Version (KJV) 15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
