Sleep Paralysis Debunked - Cure Found
If anyone has or is curious of the bizzare phenomenon of sleep paralysis, I would suggest watching this short amazing vid of multiple first hand descriptions and the 100% efficacy cure (will likely surprise many).

Very curious of your feedback.

Oh good grief.

rolleyes

Sleep paralysis is nothing but the brain going into REM sleep. We typically don't wake up at this point but some do. It's the brain's way of protecting the body from physical harm while it's putting the body into a state of perpetual rest (that's just my terminology for it).

You're not supposed to wake up at this point because those parts of the brain responsible for movement have literally gone into "sleep" mode, so you won't be able to move if you wake at the wrong time.

It's kind of like shutting down your computer when you have certain programs running at once, and you get an alert message that "this" or "that" has to finish shutting down FIRST.

I experienced sleep paralysis last week. There were no boogie men next to my bed or "shadow people".

Wanna know the "cure"?

RELAX and allow your brain to complete its natural "shutdown" process. Breathe calmly, don't try to move, and just: RELAX. Don't open your eyes either.

Eventually you WILL drift off into REM sleep and you'll wake up hours later, refreshed--like I did last week.

So, no one has to call on mythical archetypes that can't do anything for them.

In case you haven't figured out, there seems to be (at least) two types for "sleep paralysis". One where people only experience mild discomfort because of not being able to move and not being sure if they are awake or sleeping etc.. and those cases when they are absolutely terrified and fear for their lives.

I don't think it is reasonable to assume people can hear and see most of "real world" just as it is but then add some nightmarish stuff there for no reason. Because of my strong painkiller medications I have experienced those "harmless" sleep paralysis like a zillion times and most of the time I can already feel them coming and I can somewhat prevent them happening.

But I have also experienced those cases where I have "seen" weird things and been struck with such terror I have never ever felt in my life.

I cannot be 100% sure those things and creatures that I have seen were real in any ways, but I strongly believe they are two different cases and something (yet) unexplained causes those terror scenes to happen. Not sure if it is only in our minds and psychological or something that our environment or paranormal/w'ever causes to happen.

But if you have a good theory why would people imagine something super terrible around them or get completely scared for something that is "just normal" function of your body, I will gladly hear your opinion.

(I also quite often get this very distressing "seizures" where I feel like passing out while getting a very strong feeling/fear about my body dying while I lay on my bed waiting to sleep. I have connected it to my pain killers as I never had them before them and it is yet completely different feeling that I get from sleep paralysis, either type of those..)

I'm glad that explanation and method works for you, but apparently your case deviates significantly from the norm. However, I would also say even in your case that it apparently sounds like it's still a recurrent problem. If you ever wish that not to be the case, look into the real cure described by many in the vid, many (and many many more not in this short video) who had no real preconceptions and tried all kinds of other stuff (medication, "one weird technique" etc.) until been done with it for good.

You obviously don't understand what REM sleep is--stage of dreaming-- and what happens when we DREAM?? We SEE things in our sleep, so if you wake up when your brain is drifting into dream-stage, obviously you might see something.

Doctors note that certain medications can exacerbate sleep paralysis.

You're only hallucinating though if you're seeing things. It's the same feeling children experience when they just KNOW there's a monster in the closet--when there isn't. We're very good at scaring ourselves. But I've NEVER seen anything when I've experienced sleep paralysis, and I've experienced it many times throughout my life.

There are helpful articles about it though if sleep paralysis scares you. Understanding what's happening to you removes the fear-factor:

Yes it's especially quite easy for people and doctors to speculate without experiencing the terror themselves, and so easily waving it away as some physiological disfunction, when the general understanding and cure is so clear, albeit difficult for a hard materialistic worldview.

Good luck with your own challenges, and remember God is standing by for a heartfelt soul searching (as God is for us all).

What "norm"? Sleep paralysis has a biological component--your BRAIN. If that's the "norm" you're referring to then yeah, you're right; otherwise, you're just making shit up.

I'm not afraid of sleeping--why should I be?? Sleep paralysis has been experienced by EVERY civilization on the planet, which is expected considering we all sleep--UNLESS the one not sleeping has a sleeping disorder and CAN'T.

Don't rely so much on anecdotes.

Here's another perfect example of a lot of hand waving going on, for the related sudden unexpected death syndrome (SUDS):

This phenomenon is also highly unexplained, and by all accounts is a terrifying sleep paralysis episode that does actually lead to physical death.

I have talked about this phenomenon with several of my friends and relatives and many of them said they have seen "things" while experiencing it.. while some say they just feel annoyed by not being able to move.

I am very much aware what a REM state is and my "sleep paralysis" MOSTLY happens BEFORE I even pass out the first time, meaning I am nowhere even near the REM state of my sleep. I very rarely "wake up" from my deep sleep unable to move, thou mostly they happen when I am experiencing a real nightmare and some terrifying scene forces me to wake up (and it take some time to wake up, so I feel I am "trapped" for a while, unable to move etc..).

I think you are over simplifying a complex thing which even might be two very different things with similar "features". As I stated, I often experience a non terrifying sleep paralysis too and the reason why I do not FEAR it is because it is NOT frightening.. whereas the another phenomenon feels VERY different, making me believe it IS another thing indeed.

I've lived with sleep paralysis for 25 years. Sometimes It would happen several times in the same night.

I'm not going to go in to detail because it's pretty well documented what it is. The cause is what is unresolved in many people's minds.

As i've gotten older the episodes have decrease a lot but I still get an episode on about 3-4 times a month on average.

I'VE HEARD THIS FOR YEARS. CALL OUT TO JESUS CHRIST. IT HAS NEVER WORKED FOR ME AND I'M A CHRISTIAN. ALL IT DID WAS MAKE ME QUESTION MY FAITH SINCE IT DIDN'T WORK FOR ME YET IT IS CLAIMED TO WORK FOR EVERYONE ELSE

As for the claim there are two types. I do not believe that. I think it has to do with how much you panic during the episode. What you were dreaming before\while it happens.

When I have an episode if I DO NOT fight it it SEEMS like I can get up and walk around and I will actually fool myself and as soon as I try to fight it...boom...im back lying frozen in bed. NO IT'S NOT ASTRAL PROJECTION. IT"S JUST MY MIND

I have had episodes of sleep paralysis many times, since about the age of 14.

I get the weird sounds, kind of metallic or electrical and the feelings like it the sound vibrates inside my head.
I never saw things or any kind of visual hallucinations.

This happened many times in my younger years but gradually less and less as I got older.

Years later in my life I discovered Ayahuasca and DMT.
I was amazed at how similar the feeling of vibration and buzzing/humming sounds inside my head felt.

Knowing that DMT is natural to the brain and released during sleep.
I really believe that sleep paralysis may be related to DMT.

Hmmm you and the other guys are giving interesting feedback. A hypothesis for this complex multifaceted phenomenon that I'm forming goes like this: perhaps there is a physiological mechanism that can lead to a paralyzed conscious state. Furthermore, as garnered from this and a wide array of other research avenues, there is a strong indication of "intelligent" "transdimensional" "entities" that are highly adept to integrating with our conscious states (particularly when we open up various "doors" for this to occur). These "entities" are furthermore capable of hijacking (and also initiating) and using to own ends this physiological mechanism.

A question I would ask you 49173534 is have you during any of these sleep paralysis episodes experienced the additional feature of a malicious presence sensed in some way? This is in particular what I would expect to be highly responsive to the authority of the Christ Jesus.

Thanks for taking the time to watch the video, and corroborate some of the phenomenological cross-correlations.

As for mind altering substances and very unusual associated experiences, I don't know what to make of them, aside from if there was some serious physical or emotional condition in need of treatment, I would pursue every other avenue before feeling compelled to consider a mind altering drug, naturally derived or not (granted our societal and social shortcomings around us can give high precedence for escapement and aids for trying to tolerate it, but in a way seeking potentially quite negative responses gives our negative surroundings "victory").

Early on I would feel panic rising towards terror but I've learned to quickly calms myself enough(still panic) to ride it out.

I see shadows that one could interpret as an entity but its not. I've never had anything jump on me or speak to me during SP.....BUT

Maybe this thread might be of use. The other poster is drawing a relationship between naturally occurring DMT and SP. I'm open to this theory.

I've always associated lucid dreaming with SP since they both started at the same time though at first the SP happened far more frequently than the lucid dreams. Now the opposite is true.

If I can include lucid dreaming in this discussion for just this post then the DMT theory makes perfect sense.

What I experience during lucid dreams is very similar to what is described in a DMT experience. Many things I can control at will but there are always things and entities that I have no control over. It as if they are as shocked by me as I am with them.

I have debated what it is I experience so much that i just don't debate it anymore. I've settle on it's my conscious mind communicating with my subconscious.

I hope this makes some sense. I've always associated lucid dreaming with SP for me so this is the best answer I can give.

To be clear--I do not believe I have ever experienced anything supernatural or made contact or been contacted by friendly or evil entities. I like the DMT hypothesis.

I was not suggesting people consider mind altering substances, just pointing out
some of the similarities of the experience.

I was very religious in my earlier life and the calling out Jesus name did not help much for me.
The feeling of a malicious presence was very intense in the earlier days.

Eventually I became used to it and learned that fear itself was the problem.

I would be calm and remember, I have never died or lost my soul so far,
so why should this time be any different.

The feeling of a malicious presence fades when I stop being afraid but the buzzing sounds and electrical vibrations continues for a time. Then either I wake up, go into a lucid dream or just fall asleep completely.

If anyone has or is curious of the bizzare phenomenon of sleep paralysis, I would suggest watching this short amazing vid of multiple first hand descriptions and the 100% efficacy cure (will likely surprise many).

Very curious of your feedback.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 49306542

I've experienced the paralysis multiple times. First around the age of 6 when i awoke to a shadowy figure watching me which then grabbed my wrists and shook me violently then ran through my wall. The next time I was around 20 and I awoke to see the outline of a head in my window with a shadowy arm slowly creeping down the wall towards me. I tried to throw my remote control at te window out of pure fear but as soon as i picked my hand up it went limp and i couldnt move. Absolutely terrifying.

Other than that I have suffered from what is called hypnogogic hallucinations my whole life. Seeing snakes, spiders, people, hearing voices calling my name, telling me to wake up, singing. Im always in a dumb founded trance like state until i wake up and realize i was just talking to someone imaginary. Luckily the episodes are not too violent to my concious self. I even have recordings of these instances and you just hear lots of popping noises like bubble wrap and me gasping and choking for air while saying help.

Lately its been under control. No more talking animals or paralysis. I do still hear voices quite often when i wake up though. Its cool to hear from others. Sometimes I myself question if it is just some kind of chemical imbalance.

I experience sleep paralysis quite frequently, just last night even. When I am dreaming, and I see a scene I don't like, I tell myself to wake up. Sometimes I even see/feel myself close my eyes (in the dream), and I can literally feel myself ascend from.. where ever my astral body is. Then I feel the paralysis slowly begin to fade away. It's quite enjoyable actually.

Funny you mention that...

Pertaining to my previous post of having a dream and not liking what is happening, and I tell myself to wake up, last night I distinctly recall, as I was "ascending" up/out of my dream, I recall (before actually waking) seeing the foot of my bed and the TV in front of it. It was like I was kneeling down there, and about to lie back down in my bed and go back to sleep. Pretty awesome...

Re: Sleep Paralysis Debunked - Cure Found
Oh good grief.

I have had it all my life and in some weird places not just at home in my bed. I have gone to a sleep doctor and he told me they don't know what causes it and they have no cure. Has anyone here been to a sleep doctor?
I can call out, I call for my son, he comes to my door and tells me to wake up. I used to have my little dog, he would bark or take his paw and touch me to wake me. sometimes I wake up and am pulled back down into the same SP. So I have to get up and walk around before going back to bed.

I wonder why some have it and others don't, could it be blood type or something else? What do we have in common ?

I have been to the sleep doctor for the hallucinations and was told I have abnormally slow delta wave. That doesnt mean squat though since they didnt know what to do.

I have only experienced sleep paralysis a handful of times. It always seems to be the same feeling of something or someone holding me down. It's not that I just can't move but a feeling of 1000 lbs laying on top of me. I feel fully awake and it does not feel like a dream.
It represents my belief in personal freedom and my sense of individuality.

What is this! Shitload of mashed potatoes day?

I experience sleep paralysis when I sleep on my back. When I sleep on my side, fetal position, or on my stomach it doesn't happen.

Well that's a load of bullcrap. I have had loads of experiences with sleep paralysis and never asked Jebus to help. I just thought this is one f***ed up dream and forced myself to wake up. Simple as that.
The paralysis part of sleep paralysis is a normal function of your body while in sleep. It is so that while you are sleeping, you can't roll around and hurt yourself. In sleep paralysis your body is only half awake so your brains haven't given your body permission to move yet and you are still under the influence of the chemical compounds that make you hallucinate a.k.a. dream. It takes few moments to wake up and after that you'll be able to move again. There is no demons there, just your usual nightmares.
