Not big ones but unusual to have so many this close together. Quoting: Zuzu I'm not sure of the mag. (not on USGS yet) of this last one but it felt like a truck hit the house. Considering all of the significant quakes lately I hope we're not ramping up to something larger. Zuzu (OP) User ID: 48342266 United States 11/03/2013 12:02 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This is the first chance I've had to come back and check on this thread after some much needed sleep. Boy, I was surprised at all of the input! Thanks ya'll for all of your thoughts and information I know the thread has kinda died down but I thought I'd post an update. This is from the local news. "Oklahoma Geological Survey Records 16 Quakes Around OKC" "News 9 first reported, four earthquakes had hit Saturday morning, but after we checked in with the Oklahoma Geological Survey they told us it was actually 16." More here: [link to www.news9.com] Guess I slept through the rest of them! Proud to share the basket with you. |

I've had people a few blocks over not feel a thing while my house rattled and vice versa. Maybe it depends on the direction that the energy is released. Just a guess. If that goes, the US blows in two. So why don't you just Oklahoma is not on the new madrid. This is where the new madrid is in the pink: [link to gaiasteward.org] Oklahoma as you can see is a ways from that fault line but has one running east to west that connects with it. Oklahoma also has another fault line running north to south. Here: [link to academic.emporia.edu] The best way to look at the new madrid and how it effects surrounding areas is with this map: [link to www.electrical-res.com] The center of the red where all the states borders meet being the heart of the new madrid. |

November 8th Three Quakes Rock Edmond Within Hours [link to www.news9.com] Quakes shake metro this morning in latest swarm of tremors This station is reporting 4 quakes. [link to kfor.com] None of these were particularly large but it never hurts to be aware of what is going on. To my fellow Okies, I'm not trying to be a fear monger and more than likely nothing will come of this but it might not be a bad idea to think about an earthquake plan. I think most of our children know what to do when a tornado is coming but do they know what to do if the earth starts shaking more that it has been? Tangy User ID: 43994199 United States 11/08/2013 10:25 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Good plan Zuzu, be sure you have a gas shutoff key the kids can access and know how (and when) to use. Strap tall furniture. Be sure to have water!! Never go below half full on gas tanks. If you can't find a link to a good EQ plan locally, check out some Cali pages maybe. :) |

I'm just guessing, but I think that is sinkhole country, perhaps not as bad as Florida, but not unknown. Looking at the map, I can't help but think a little depression would greatly expand that Arcadia lake, perhaps to the river and more. I hope I'm wrong, have nothing against those people, but I know nothing. Hugs back! |
