male cats suffer from urinary problems, you have to find a vet, or call a rescue org, and do it asap, they can die in hours, good luck

Is he an indoor cat? If so is he using the litter box? I have seen some cats get an obstructed bowel due to chewing and eating string. That could explain the large belly, and the oily coat may be due to the fact that he is too sick to groom himself.
What did you use for the fleas?

Your kitty is very sick! You MUST take him to a vet IMMEDIATELY. Most vets will let you pay on time.

If you cannot afford to take care of an animal, you shouldn't have one. Sorry to sound harsh but it's true.

Get to the vet NOW and throw yourself on their mercy for payment AFTER they've treated the kitty.

Good luck!

my first thought is WHY THE HELL DO YOU HAVE A PET

you obviously dont give a SHIT ABOUT YOUR CAT!

Drop it off at a rescue centre and NEVER have a pet again AT ALL in your life

Anyone with any sense or love for their pets would have contacted an animal shelter to get the best for their pets.

YOU ARE A SELFISH SHIT !

Animals in the house provide a lot of research . My stupid ass stirred my fruit vinegar onto the floor. Dog ate much grossness followed. Dog now dragging ass on carpet. After a buttcut and shampoo. Problem solved. Might not work for everyone.

GO TO THE VET OMG, WHY WOULD YOU TAKE A COMPANION IF YOU CAN'T AFFORD EVEN 1 SESSION TO THE VET? GO TO THE VET NOW, EVEN IF YOU HAVE TO SELL YOUR ASS FOR A NIGHT OR 2. AND IF YOU CAN'T PLZ, GET HIM TO A SHELTER AND NEVER GET A COMPANION AGAIN, EVER.

If he is have problems passing it, put about a one inch strip of vaseline on the cats paws. They will groom themselves, ingest it and it will help them pass it a little easier.hf

what flea medicine did you use? If it was dog flea stuff, bathe your cat immediately, dog flea medication can kill your cat

If he acts like he's trying to pee but doesn't OR makes a show of trying to pee in front of you OR screams for no good reason, he might have a bladder blockage.

Take him to the emergency vet, put it on the card, find out what is wrong and make your best decision.

You need to give more information or this is going to be pure guesswork:

How long has he been lethargic?

How long has his belly been hard?

When did you do the flea treatment and what brand did you use?

When was the last time you saw a poop in the litter box?

Has your cat been urinating regularly (at least three times a day)?

Does he strain when using the litter box, or appear to be in distress?

Does he throw up?

Do you feed your cat grain-free dry food?

Is he still affectionate or is he hiding and avoiding?

I've changed food some this year to try and keep his mama from getting more fat, he is a very picky eater, and changed up things by not always sleeping nearby.

If he is just bummed, or ate string then shoving him in a box and then the car won't help. But I'm on standby if I think he needs a vet.

OP, have you changed anything lately?

If you used the wrong flea product on the cat it could be toxic to his system, if he is lethargic you need to get him to a vet asap. Once a cat starts showing they are sick, and not hiding it any longer, they are in trouble.
Animals, will always hide an illness due to instinct. Call a vet and explain your situation, they will usually work with you.

Not to sound like a dick, but you shouldn't have a cat if you cannot take care of it. All animals need vet visits.

It sounds like he has eaten something and it is obstructing his bowels. He needs to go to the vet asap.

Get a medium size bowl, mix one can of wet cat food, one cup of hot water and three tea-spoons of Diatomaceous Earth, mix altogether and put in small dish for cat to eat.

Mark My Words, I have Four inside cats and they eat this everyday and they Never have any Problems Whatsoever. Nor do they ever have any fleas...

If you do not know about Diatomaceous Earth, Google it.

1 year old cat "Losing weight fast" = DYING.

Worms would be 'best case' scenario... worms bad enough to cause such serious symptoms is unlikely, something else is probably wrong too.

Either suck it up and go to a vet or give him to somebody responsible enough to help him or...
