anybody know any good prescription or overthecounter drugs, or natural remedies, for lung congestion?

Mucinex. Works good. Inhaling steam (towel over head) of a bowl of hot water with a drop or two of tea tree oil, eucalyptus or menthol is also good. Breathe deep for about ten minutes and try coughing up any mucus. I'm asthmatic and this helps me.

Vic's vapor rub on your chest helps.

4 drops of oil of Oregano to a half gal. of water. Cures any lung ailment in 4 days. But it tastes BAD

That and some good ole Vics Vapor Rub on the chest and lightly around the nose... This combo (Mucinex, steam with tea oil, etc, and vics) is very effective. Be patient and hang in there....

When a puffer isn't handy I boil water, add salt and huff the steam deep into my lungs.

My old doctor gave a great elixir that would make all the bad stuff spew out of my lungs, it was awesome.

honey and lemon juice served in a hot tea cant go wrong
maybee serve it in a tea of rose hips

garlic oil capsuls very good but you need the smelly stuff
not these modern reduced odor crap or eat an awfull lot of garlic

mullein very powerfull ive never been sick enough to try it
I recomend you do further study before trying it.im pretty sure it could kill you dead if you OD or over do it.

I have congestion all the time from allergies I take a herbal mix that has tulsi, vasaka, ginger, marshmallow rosehips, garlic pippali rosemary astragalus thyme mullein leaf fenugreek eucalyptus lungwort slippery elm wild cherry garden violet peppermint goldenseal lobelia comfrey leaf kalmegh dashamulla in it it's a lung and respiratory herbal cleanse and works pretty well.

Is that the strong mint scented cream? I was going to say that cream helps, but I don't know what else could help asides from that.

You will need...

A Bowl of almost boiled water.
A Towel
Eucalyptus oil
Some Tissues
Blackout Eye mask thingy (if on hand)

Pour water into bowl, add a few drops of the oil and stir. Lean over the bowl with the towel over your head also covering the bowl so very little vapour escapes. Breath those in & out, slowl and shallow at first then build up to bigger breaths.

Do this at least an hour before retiring to bed for the night, it should help.

Horehound is the best. You can buy Horehound drops at most stores. (It's a plant of the mint family.)

Vicks on the chest at night, and put a warm shirt on. Buy "Clear Lungs" from your local health food store. That works extremely well for me.

Water is your friend barring any kind of congestive heart failure. Hydrate your body it will loosen up anything inside your chest. The tip about the oil of oregano is spot on. Fresh lemon squeezed into it is also a natural expectorant.

Teramyacin
Find it at any feed supply.
$8+ a pouch... various mfr's.

It's basically tetracycline, a broad spectrum antibiotic... good for adults..children should use amoxicylin (check fish supply).

Dose: capsule it with 500mg capsules, "0" capsules.

2 to start, then 1 every 6 hrs for 3-5 days depending on severity of congestion.

Been using it (when necessary) for 15 years.
Store the pouch in freezer... capsule as needed.

A lifesaver.

I've use it successfully for strep throat and tooth infections as well.

This is great, I use Sovereign Silver, it seems to work better for me. You can get it in a nasal spray, and it helps to use it that way also.

Watkins Menthol Camphor Ointment under your toes, put socks on.

This will usually stop a child's cough and put them to sleep as well.

If you only have Vicks Vapor-Rub, still, put it under the toes.

definitely no suppressants *blerk* you want to expel that putrefied waste quick smart.. i'd suggest anything that soothes your passages and encourages a smooth exit..
steam and such.. saunas.. walking..
a few drops of essential oil in that steam too to treat the infection: citrus? tea tree? and yup oregano

i think the trick is to put some vicks (or something like it) on the soles of your feet and cover with socks ;)

if you are coughing really hard then you can hurt yourself... badly. you need a compromise between expelling the stuff and not cracking a rib.

are you sure it's not hydrocodone? (synthetic codeine) it wears off quickly. relatively speaking.

but if it is oxycodone... iI never heard of that... you don't want to mess around if your coughing is that bad.

basically take that and otcOTC basic robotussin and you will have a suppressant/expectorant.

i cannot speak from experience, but holy basil comes to mind as i've read it effectively treats lung disorders

Yes!! Make sure and pound water....totally works. Just cured nasty cold ive had for three weeks. I swear I felt improvements in just one doese as stated above. Miricle cure for many ailments.

Hot Sauce, nuff said. Eat some hot sauce that you can barely tolerate and it will clean your lungs and nose out.
