Clashing culture

So Im at the supermarket and Im in line for lotto tickets. I notice these two dark skinned ladies next to me talking about the home town I was born in and I say hi and mention I was from the city they were speaking about. We had a nice conversation. I get my tickets and say good bye to them, on the way out of the store they say to me take care and stay safe while they are laughing. Im white. How would you take that.
