Which is fine, if they are or not is again an issue of transparency with Tepco and the Japanese Government. What is more important is what do we do now that this crisis has happened and how is this affecting us in the short-term and long-term. If Russia and Japan both cover-up the severity of how nuclear energy is affecting their citizens health then we will always be in a situation where we can argue about the situation while the gravity of it is claiming it's victims. And the lies about the safety of nuclear energy continue while millions die spanning generations thanks to unsafe, unclean nuclear energy. Will we ever see transparency from Russia or Japan? I doubt it. Seems like everyone is in bed protecting big nuclear. Profits over public safety and health [sic]. From what I've observed radioactive waste doesn't care what we believe, it just keeps on doing it's thing regardless of semantics and beliefs. Makes me wonder what the next Nuclear reactor disaster is going to look like, will it top Fukushima or be another Chernobyl? Will warring nations be so naive that they bomb another countries fuel-loaded reactors? |

Probably tapped everyone out for a while with all the generosity but at least we had this pinned for truth twice which is a good thread run on GLP. Hard to imagine the next 20 years for Humanity with all these problems created by Nuclear Energy mishaps and testing. Cancer is already 1 in 2, it's certainly creating profits for hospitals. Sad sick world we live in. |

Pretty scary, I'm 226 miles away from that site up North in Canada... not a far way considering the amount of radioactive pollution there. My friend was telling me about Hanford when we were talking about Fukushima, he made it sound closer. No doubt a disgusting smear on our beloved planet Earth! |

[link to enenews.com] KMPH, Nov 16, 2013: Members of the group “Anonymous” participated in a nationwide “March Against Mainstream Media” protest on Saturday, November 16, 2013, and visited KMPH-TV in Fresno along with several other Fresno-area media outlets. [...] Among their chief concerns about media coverage, they told [News Director Jim] Turpin, are the lack of coverage of the ongoing radiation leaks at the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant in Japan, and a lack of coverage of any kind about genetically-modified food. [...] Group members also want the media to be more willing to do stories about the effects of radiation leaks at the Fukushima plant, and to investigate what that might do to people living in California. One of the protestors said, “The radiation from that plant is going to reach us and affect us, not just in California but worldwide. How is it going to affect us, how is it going to affect our water, our food supply, and our way of life?” [...] Steven Starr, Director of the Clinical Laboratory Science Program at the University of Missouri, Senior Scientist at Physicians for Social Responsibility: The media… remember they announced there was a cold shutdown, I don’t know how cold it is with molten corium underneath the reactors — that was the news and then they stopped talking about it. Then you’ll hear blurbs on National Propaganda Radio and some of the places like that where they make up phoney stories. They try to frame this as being, ‘Well there’s a bit of a problem, but the real nuclear guys like to talk about how the tsunami was what really hurt everything and this is just overblown.’ It’s very frustrating to me […] |

Some of it was stored, and Hanford’s aging complex of 177 underground tanks contain 53 million gallons of chemicals and radioactive liquids; 67 of the tanks have together leaked more than a million gallons.
